Up to two children were reported killed and between four and seven civilians were injured in an alleged Russian forces or Syrian regime forces airstrike on Mishmishan in Jisr al Shoghour, Idlib – Syria on November 7th, 2019 according to local sources. It was reported that four civilians of the same family were among the injured.
A tweet by @MoamenRawy reported “Haitham Hussein Al-Saleh, a volunteer in the civil defense in Idlib district, was injured with his family in the town of Mishmishan, as a result of Assad’s warplanes targeting civilian homes today, Thursday.”
According to Syrian Civil Defense, a member of the team recovered bodies of two children of his relatives and rescued his mother from their destroyed home after the attack.
@NagiNajjar listed other injured civilians, who were taken to Darkoush Hospital: Ahmad Haitham Al-Saleh, 4 years old; Mustafa Ibrahim Al-Youssef, 41 years old; Maryam Ahmed Khayro, 55 years old; Emad Jumaa Hallaj, 35 years old; Samira Ismail Aswad, 28 years old. Yusef Kamal Khayro, 4.5 years old was identified as being killed in the strikes.
A Facebook post by Sham Masri added that the child Hussain Firas Khairo was also killed.
A tweet from @almo3tasem91 reported “the death toll from the Russian militia’s bombing of the town of “Mishmishan” in the western countryside of Idlib has increased to two children and 7 wounded, including a member of the Civil Defense.”
According to @media_idlib, the attack struck “the center of the village with two missiles at once” and attributed the strikes to the regime.
Step News reported that vacuum missiles were used in the attack and “[killed] two children and [wounded] seven civilians, including critical injuries, in the town of Meshmshan,” attributing the strikes to the regime.
Sources were conflicted as to whether the regime or Russia was responsible for the strike.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
