Airwars assessment
One civilian and a number of medical personnel were injured when Russian forces or Syrian regime forces allegedly targeted Al Kinana and Al Fardous hospitals in Dar Ezza in Aleppo with airstrikes on February 17th, 2020, according to local sources.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights said that “fixed- wing warplanes we believe were Russian fired on al Kenanah Hospital- supported by Relief International Organization- in south of Darat Ezza city in western suburbs of Aleppo governorate, partially destroying its building and damaging its furniture and equipment, on February 17, 2020.
Bawaba Aleppo said that a guard who worked in the Fardous hospital was injured and moved to a nearby hospital. @nabilsaidsweden added that a number of hospital employees and civilians in the vicinity of the two hospitals were wounded.
Syrian Civil Defence Aleppo said the hospitals were targeted with eight airstrikes in the morning of Monday, November 17th, 2020.
SMART News Agency also reported that the airstrikes stopped the two hospitals from providing services. The airstrikes caused partial destruction to al Kinanah hospital building and damage to the equipment and furniture, according to the Syrian Network for Human Rights. Radio Al Kul identified Al-Firdous, a maternity hospital, as having its operations room destroyed.
@syriapostnew1 pointed out that due to the destruction of both hospitals, “the western countryside of Aleppo became complete devoid of any hospital or medical point” and Syria Relief and Development reported that the hospitals were serving nearly 200,000 people in need of medical care.
SMART Agency accused both the Syrian regime and Russia of targeting the two hospitals, where the other sources blamed Russia, like Bawabat Aleppo, ShahbaPress, Syrian Civil Defence, Macro Media Center and the Syrian Network for Human Rights. @anasanas84 identified vacuum missiles as being used in the attacks.
The incident occured in the morning.
