Local sources alleged that Russian forces shelled near the village of Glazunivka, striking a gas treatment facility, resulting in one injured civilian the evening of March 13, 2022.
@black_cerber tweeted that shelling at night hit ShebelynkaGasVydobuvannya, located near the village of Glazunivka in the Izyum district, resulting in fires in the building of the operator’s room and the gas separator. According to Lozova News, the ShebelynkaGasVydobuvannya plant provides 40% of Ukraine’s blue fuel. In 2020, the plant produces 7.552 billion cubic meters of gas along with 128.04 thousand tons of gas condensate and oil.
Suspilne Media quoted a rescue worker who said that “there was intense flaring of gas from the plant and pipeline near the control room, destructive damage to the control room. The fire area was about 300 square meters. Rescuers closed all the valves leading to the damaged units and pipelines and cooled them down. After that, the intensity of burning significantly decreased.” The head of the Donetsk community Anatoliy Nazdrachov told Suspilne that “the guys-operators who were on duty were lucky that they went out for a smoke, the bomb hit the building of the control room,” and that over seventy families were evacuated from the area.
There were numerous reports of one wounded worker, but no fatalities. Numerous users on telegram, including Suspilne Khakiv and Truexanewsua, along with Korresondent.net and Tribuna News all reported one wounded worker, with Suspilne attributing the shelling to Russian forces.
