During the night of Monday, October 16, 2023, a child, Muhammad Qushu Ali, was injured by alleged Turkish and Sham Legion military artillery shells in the village of Kalotah, in the Afrin countryside of northern Syria.
Muhammad Qushu Ali’s age remains unclear: according to the Afrin post, the child was 3 years old. However, Efrin news reported that Muhammad was 6 years old, and posted a picture of a boy showing a covered wound on his left arm.
According to the Afrin post, Muhammad Qushu Ali is a Kurdish child from Burj al-Qas, and has been living in the village of Kalotah since March 2018, when Turkey and the Muslim Brotherhood military occupied his original village.
Photos posted by several sources on Twitter/X and Facebook show damaged civilian homes in the vicinity of the incident.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the responsibility for the strike to the Turkish military.
