One woman, Mrs. Fatoum Ghazi Al Lour, was killed allegedly by a Syrian Democratic Forces or Syrian regime missile in Maryamin village, Afrin, in the northern part of Aleppo on January 20th 2022 according to local sources and media.  Mrs. Ghazi Al Lour was travelling in a vehicle which was targeted.

Sources reported “a number” of wounded.  The car allegedly held a total of five people and Zaitun Agency reported that two others in the car were injured, and Mc-Doualiya news reported that it was three. Some local sources reported that the car was a “civilian vehicle”, but Afrin Post reported that the woman who was killed was a civilian in a “military vehicle belonging to the Syrian Front militia.” Therefore it is unclear as to whether the others injured were civilians or members of the militia.

According to Horrya, the White Helmets reported that one woman was killed but no others were injured.

SCD reported that “the guided missile launched from areas controlled by the regime forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces, targeted a car in the village of Mreimein near Azaz in the northern countryside of Aleppo.” Many sources referenced that the guided missile “came from joint points between the Assad forces and the SDF milita on the Maryamin axis.”

Al Modon News also reported that the road between the cities of Azaz and Afrin at the Shatt checkpoint was also targeted, blocking the road for hours.

According to social media, Mrs. Ghazi Al Lour was the wife of Mahmoud Hassan Abu Ali and they lived in Aleppo.
