According to local sources, YPG/PKK targeted the National Hospital in the city of Azaz, north of Aleppo, with heavy artillery, on February 27th 2022. At least one civilian was wounded by the mortar shelling, including among the medical staff and one of the patients.
Almost all sources attributed this attack to the YPG/PKK although Xeber news reported that “an unidentified drone flew in the northern countryside of Aleppo, after the Syrian regime forces targeted the city of Azaz, which is under Turkish occupation and controlled by the militas of the Syrian coalition.”
The local time of the incident is unknown.

Reports of the incident mention the National Hospital (المشفى الوطني في اعزاز) within the city of Azaz (أَعْزَاز), for which the generic coordinates are: 36.573739, 37.021200. Due to limited satellite imagery and information available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location further. The generic coordinates for Azaz are: 36.5868, 37.0481.
