Airwars assessment

Two civilians were injured by alleged Turkish shelling of Qaramox village on October 3, 2022.

Kurdistan24 quoted Rojava Information Center reported that two civilians were injured by a Turkish bombardment in Qaramox village, near Kobani.

A military source told North Press Agency that two people were slightly injured by the bombing in the Kobani countryside. North Press also provided the names of those injured: Masoud Abu Ayoub, 53, from Qaramogh, Mustafa Hero, 25, from the village of Goran.

All of the sources that reported on the incident attributed the strikes to Turkey.

Airwars assessment

Four civilians were injured in alleged Turkish shelling of the village of Tal al-Laban in the Tel Tamr countryside on October 3, 2022.

According to Hawar News, four civilians were injured when Turkish forces bombed the village of Tal al-Laban and the injured were taken to a hospital in Tel Tamr district to receive treatment. The names of the injured as Hajj Ibrahim Muhammad al-Faqir, Qusay Musa al-Faqir, Abdul Majeed al-Faraj and Najm Abdullah Habib.

A medical source from Legation Hospital in Tel Tamr told North Press Agency that the four civilians were wounded to varying degrees of severity.

All of the sources that reported on the incident attributed the strikes to Turkish forces and a military source told North Press Agency that Turkey fired a barrage of artillery shells at Tal al-Laban.

At least one civilian, a sheikh at a local mosque, was injured by shrapnel from either heavy machine guns or auto cannon fire in the village of Oleshli on September 15, 2022.

According to the Syrian Civil Defense, a civilian was wounded by heavy machine guns from the areas controlled by the regime forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces in Oleshli. The machine gun fire hit civilian homes and a mosque in the village of Oleshli.

@Rian_almasri tweeted that the “sheikh of Al-Awlashli Mosque was injured by shrapnel in the head while raising the Maghrib call to prayer”. The Syrian Network for Human Rights identified the mosque damaged as the Omar bin al Khattab Mosque.

A tweet from @majdalrfiai identified the weapon used in the attack as a 23-gun explosive device, which the tweet attributed to the SDF, while the Syrian Network for Human Rights reported that the village of Oleshli was hit by an autocannon fired by either the Syrian regime forces or the Syrian Democratic Forces.

Up to four civilians, including a child and a woman, from the same family, were injured on August 4th 2022, when missile strikes hit a residential neighbourhood in the city of Azaz, north of Aleppo as a result of contested Syrian regime forces or Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) action.

@Almohar1 tweeted that three civilians were injured and their names were:

Three air strikes with cluster bombs stuck the residential neighbourhood of Maarat Misrin and killed four named civilians including two children. According to Elfgr News, up to nine civilians were wounded, “some of whom were ministered to the hospital Al-Bab-Hawa border crossing”.

According to the Shaam News Network, “warplane strikes” carried out by “Assad’s and Russia’s warplanes” resulted in four deaths. However, Al Jazeera, the Smart News Agency and the Syrian Network for Human Rights blamed the regime.

Multiple sources reported that between four and five civilians including two women died and up to 12 others were injured in four raids on Idlib City – though reports were conflicted as to whether this was the work of Russia or the Assad regime. The majority of sources attribute the raids to Russia. However, The Smart News Agency and Jisrtv blamed regime warplanes; while the Syrian Network for Human Rights identified “government warplanes and its allies” as the culprits.

Alkhaleej, All4syria and Alarabya alleged that internationally banned phosphorous bombs were deployed, resulting in widespread fires and damage to residential buildings and shops.

According to Alarabya, the civil defense attempted to control the fires in residential buildings.
