On December 20, while taking part in coalition missions in support of Iraqi security forces ground operations in an area northwest of Mosul, two CF-188 Hornets used precision guided munitions to damage an ISIL Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED). The VBIED was positioned on a roadside, posing a direct threat to the safety and security of Iraqi security forces operating in the region.
