Military Strikes Continue Against ISIS Terrorists in Syria and Iraq

Note: From this point forward, in accordance with current operational tempo, CJTF-OIR Strike Releases will be published on Mondays and Fridays. Strikes conducted on Friday through Sunday will be reported every Monday. Strikes conducted on Monday through Thursday will be reported every Friday. Our intent is to reduce the number of reports while maintaining transparency with the international community.

SOUTHWEST ASIA – Between Nov. 6 and Nov. 9, 2017, Coalition military forces conducted 23 strikes consisting of 28 engagements against ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq.

On Nov. 9 in Syria, Coalition military forces conducted 11 strikes consisting of 11 engagements against ISIS targets.

• Near Abu Kamal, one strike destroyed four ISIS logistics hubs.

• Near Dayr Az Zawr, 10 strikes engaged eight ISIS tactical units and destroyed an ISIS line of communication, four fighting positions and an ISIS vehicle.

On Nov. 9 in Iraq, Coalition military forces conducted one strike consisting of one engagement against ISIS targets.

Near Al Qaim, one strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed a command and control center.

On Nov. 8, there were no strikes reported in Syria or Iraq.

On Nov. 7 in Syria, Coalition military forces conducted six strikes consisting of nine engagements against ISIS targets.

• Near Abu Kamal, one strike destroyed a command and control center.

• Near Al Shaddadi, one strike destroyed an ISIS fighting position.

• Near Dayr Az Zawr, four strikes engaged three ISIS tactical units and destroyed a tactical vehicle and an explosive hazard.

On Nov. 7 in Iraq, Coalition military forces conducted one strike consisting of one engagement against ISIS targets. Near Hawijah, one strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed an ISIS vehicle.

On Nov. 6 in Syria, Coalition military forces conducted four strikes consisting of six engagements against ISIS targets.

• Near Abu Kamal, two strikes engaged two ISIS tactical units and destroyed three command and control centers, an anti-air artillery system, a UAV facility, a tactical vehicle and an ISIS-held building.

• Near Dayr Az Zawr, two strikes engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed a fighting position.

Additionally, one strike consisting of one engagement was conducted in Syria on Nov. 5, 2017. This strike was reported late and was not included in our last CJTF-OIR Strike Release on Nov. 6, 2017. Near Dayr Az Zawr, one strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed an ISIS vehicle.

Iraq: 1 strikes

On Nov. 9 in Syria, Coalition military forces conducted 11 strikes consisting of 11 engagements against ISIS targets.

Near Abu Kamal, one strike destroyed four ISIS logistics hubs.
