Reports 2 strikes – partnered with Coalition aircraft – on a major logistics site of Daesh in Al Qaim, Iraq: On April 29, around 21:30, four Rafale left the Arabo-Persian Gulf to join four Mirage 2000D from the deployed air base in Jordan. French aircraft, mostly equipped with cruise missile SCALP (long range autonomous conventional cruise system), were joined in the Iraqi skies by several fighters and US bombers (F15 and B52) to hit the targets that were set for them. On 30 April, the following night, another French-American system, consisting of two Rafale M2000D four and eight US aircraft, again hit the same logistics site of the terrorist organization.

Reports that Dutch F-16s bombed various targets in Iraq and Syria, and that the Netherlands oversaw an Air Interdiction mission, which – in collaboration with several coalition partners – destroyed a large factory making car bombs (Vehicle Born Improvised Explosive Devices.)

Reports 3 strikes between 21-22 April: 2 in the Abu Kamal region of Syria and 1 in the Al Qaim region of Iraq

Reports a joint strike, in Fallujah, Iraq, during the night of Sunday 24 to Monday 25 April, destroying important Daesh infrastructure. This mission “coordinated by the Center of coalition air operations in Al Udeid in Qatar, demonstrates the interoperability of French crews with their US counterparts. It is part of the strategy of weakening Daech, by systematically destroying its military means but also logistics.”

Friday 22 April – Reapers destroyed a car-bomb facility and a terrorist vehicle in Syria, Typhoons provided close air support in western Iraq, and Tornados destroyed a Daesh-built bridge and a communications post in northern Iraq…Two RAF Reapers operating over Syria conducted strikes on Friday 22 April. Near Abu Kamal, one Reaper provided surveillance support to a successful coalition attack on an improvised weapons factory, then used two of its own Hellfire missiles to demolish a nearby workshop used for constructing car-bombs. The second Reaper tracked a terrorist vehicle near Tabuqah, south-west of Raqqa, and destroyed it with a Hellfire.

In western Iraq, Typhoons continued to support Iraqi ground forces north of Fallujah, where they conducted four Paveway attacks against snipers, a bunker and an entrenched fighting position. Tornados patrolled south-west of Kirkuk, where two Paveways destroyed a bridge built by Daesh across a canal, and a communications post nearby.

Thursday 21 April – Tornados employed deep penetration Enhanced Paveway III bombs against a bunker complex in western Iraq…A Tornado mission on Thursday 21 April saw the first use of the RAF’s Enhanced Paveway III (EPWIII) against Daesh – a guided bomb with a 2000lb deep penetration warhead. Our aircraft normally carry the smaller Paveway IV guided bombs and Brimstone missiles, which can be carried in larger numbers and are more useful for close air support missions. The EPW III has been held in reserve for use if needed against particularly challenging underground or hardened targets. The Tornados flew as part of a coalition air strike on a large complex of tunnels and bunkers dug into terraced hillsides above the Euphrates in western Iraq, successfully scoring direct hits with a pair of EPW IIIs on two entrances to the bunker network.

Reports 6 strikes in Iraq since 13 April, destroying 8 targets

mettre sous pression et isoler Raqqah ;

isoler Mossoul pour à terme permettre sa reconquête ;

stabiliser l’Anbar.
