Medical sources in Erbil confirmed that the child Marwa Duraid Younis Khalil was severely injured and her mother (Eman Jamal Kamber Ali) was killed when a Coalition airstrike targeted their home in Jaza’ir neighborhood, east of Mosul.

News of Iraq posted two videos of the girl (who was found alone in the hospital after her mother died) in order to help find her father or other relatives.

Up to four civilians were killed in alleged Coalition or Turkish airstrikes, according to sources.

The Syrian Network noted that “four civilians (2 children and their parents) died when International Coalition warplanes missiles fired on Baza’a city in Aleppo governorate eastern suburbs.”

However according to Ara News, “A statement issued by the Presidency of the Turkish General Staff said on Friday ‘Fighter jets belonging to the Turkish Air Force were able during the raids carried out on Thursday to neutralize 22 terrorists and destroy 272 objectives in al Bab city and the town of Baza’a in northern Syria, including 21 shelters for ISIL, a centralized command and an ammunition store’.”

The Syrian Observatory also blamed Ankara: “A child and a woman were martyred in Turkish raids on Baza’a and in Turkish artillery on al Bab.”

Three civilians including a child were reportedly killed, after an alleged Coalition strike targeted boats on the River Euphrates.

According to Smart News: “Three civilians were killed and two others injured on Tuesday, following the aerial bombardment is likely to be the international coalition on a on the Euphrates River near Raqqa city, north of Syria, as reported by a local source speaking to Smart.

The source said the raid targeted a boat carrying civilians to cross between the two banks of the Euphrates River, near the “new bridge” Al Jasir al Jadid, killing two men and a child and wounding several others.

The source explained that civilians were resorting to use boats to move between the two shores of the river after the destruction by the international coalition of al Maghla bridge Amolh in order to increase the siege on the Islamic State, as the other two bridges were also destroyed managing to isolate Raqqa from the southern countryside.

Some of the boats belong to civilians and local fishermen, and are used as a means of movement in exchange for financial remuneration ranging between 300 and 500 Syrian pounds per person depending on the size of the boat and its type (electric or manual ), according to the source.”

Tahrir al Sham militants also mentioned a Coalition raid, though made no mention of casuialties: “crusader international coalition planes launched raids on Raqqa city targeting the enrtrace of al Jisr al Jadid [the New Bridge] and the garage in front of the Euphrates gas station.” Al Araby al Jadid also mentioned strikes on a number of bridges that day.

France reports that in the last week it carried out 29 sorties and 9 strikes destroying 12 ISIL targets. In Iraq, all 8 strikes were carried out in support of operations in Mosul. They targeted mortar positions and defensive positions in the city as well as in the outskirts of Badush. In Syria, in the Raqqah region, a Rafale patrol was engaged on a ground support mission to neutralize ISIL fighters leading an attack against the SDF.

‘Sunday 12 March – Tornados bombed a large Daesh headquarters in Syria, just south of Raqqa, while Typhoons destroyed a Mosul strongpoint…On Sunday 12 March, Tornados armed with Enhanced Paveway II weapons conducted a carefully planned strike on a large Daesh headquarters in Syria, situated a couple of miles south of Raqqa. The attack had to be delivered through heavy cloud, but both of the target buildings were destroyed by direct hits. Support to the Mosul operation also continued, with Typhoons demolishing a strong-point which the Iraqi forces had encountered during their advance.’

In an incident not previously tracked by Airwars, on April 1st 2017 the Coalition said it had concluded an assessment of civilian harm claims “near Mosul, Iraq”. According to the Coalition report, “March 17, 2017, near Mosul, Iraq, via NGO report: After a review of available information it was assessed that no Coalition strikes were conducted in the geographical area that correspond to the report of civilian casualties. ”

The Coalition shared the location of this assessed strike with Airwars. The location was stated as the Zanjili neighbourhood in Mosul.

The strike was assessed as non credible based on the claim that “no Coalition strikes were conducted on that day in the geographic area of the reported civilian casualties.” However, the Coalition reported multiple strikes in Mosul that day.

No additional details are presently known.

In an incident not previously tracked by Airwars, the Coalition later confirmed the injuries of two civilians in an even near Tabqah, Syira.

Their July 2017 civilian casualty report noted: “During a strike on an ISIS fighting position, it was assessed that two civilians in an adjacent building were unintentionally injured when the target was struck.”

The Coalition provided Airwars with the location of this incident, accurate to within a one metre box. The location given places the event at al Nababalh in central Tabaqah.

The incident is one of three so far confirmed in the town that day. In a second event (CS603) between 15 and 20 civilians were reported killed and dozens more injured in alleged Coalition airstrikes on other locations in Tabaqa; in a third event (CS604) one civilian was confirmed killed and one injured.

Local sources said that that dozens of civilians were killed or injured, including 19 members from one family, in Tawafa area west of Mosul by airstrikes.

Local sources told Iraqyoon that “the aircraft bombed sites in the neighborhood of the Tawafa on the right side, which led to the deaths of dozens of civilians, including a whole family of 19 people, the family of Hassan Younis Arzu al-Jarjari.”

Press sources told Yaqein that “the aircraft of the International Alliance launched intensive raids on the area of Tawafa west of the city of Mosul.” The source added that “the bombing of international coalition aircraft killed at least 20 civilians.”

The source pointed out that “the shelling also wounded dozens of civilians, who suffer from severe shortages of medicine and food.” Iraqi Spring Media Center also said the Coalition was responsible.
