Airwars assessment

Three civilians were wounded in an alleged Russian or regime strike on Kafr ZIta, according to sources on the ground. Multiple reports said that a bakery was struck and rendered out of service.

According to Alaraby, “the warplanes and helicopters of the regime and Russia targeted several vital installations in the countryside of Aleppo, Hama and Idlib…Bombing targeted the only bakery in the town of Kafrzita, north of Hama, which put it out of service”.

Rozana reported: “On Sunday morning [April 2nd], Russian warplanes launched air strikes with surface rockets targeting the towns of Latamna, Kafarzita, Teyba, Imlaya, Souran and Mardas, in the northern suburbs of Hama.

According to Rozana’s correspondent, Abdu Abu Jamil, the bread oven in the town of Kafrzita was put out of service after being targeted by several air raids by Russian aviation. The furnace serves more than 100,000 civilians in the region.”

The Smart News Agency said that “three civilians were wounded and a number of sheep were killed” – and pointed to Russia.

According to the Smart News Agency, “a local source said that warplanes likely belonging to the Coalition targeted an oil transport vehicle belonging to the Islamic State organization in the village of Ratla (12 km south of Raqqa), which resulted in the burning of the driver and his assistant.”

One civilian male died in an alleged Coalition airstrike on the corn dryer area in Raqqa, according to local sources.

Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently reported that “Mohamad al Salem was martyred following international coalition raids this afternoon on the area of the corn dryer north of the city of Raqqa.”

The Syrian Network for Human Rights also named the victim, reporting that he was killed when “international Coalition warplanes missiles fired on the al Mojaffaf area north of Raqqa city on April 1, 2017.”

Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently reported that the Coalition carried out strikes “on the outskirts of al Bu A’ssi village this morning and named one of the victims. The victim was also named by the Violations Documentation Center.

RFS, Step and Baladi and Qasioun and Syrianpc also pointed towards the Coalition.

Airwars assessment

A woman was killed and as many as four other civilians were wounded, in an alleged Russian raid on Kanissat Nakhla, local media reported. All sources either attributed blame to Russia, or unidentified warplanes.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights singularly reported that a school (Nakhla Church School) was struck in the raid, and published a picture showing partial destruction to the inside of a school building. Other sources said that various parts of the area was destroyed, with no reference to any specific buildings.

Syria newsdesk reported that two rocket-propelled grenades struck the vicinity, leaving a female casualty and four wounded.
