Between one and two civilians, including at least one woman, was killed and up to nine others were wounded in alleged Russian airstrikes on Mantaf on June 12, 2021.
According to Syrian Civil Defense, “the killing of a woman and the wounding of 7 civilians, including 3 children, in Russian air strikes targeting residential neighborhoods in the village of Mantef”.
SCD also added that “while the mother is in intensive care, her fetus dies before he comes to her, as a result of being hit by shrapnel of a guided missile from the Russian warplanes. However, other sources, including @alatareb, reported that the mother and her fetus were killed in the strikes.
Syrian Network for Human Rights reported “a 16-year-old girl, named as Safaa Abboud was killed, along with the unborn baby of Samaher Muhammad Barakat, while six other civilians were injured when fixed-wing warplanes which we believed were Russian fired missiles on houses in the outskirts of Mentef village in the southern suburbs of Idlib governorate on June 12. SNHR has received assurances that the unborn baby’s mother, named above, is alive and is receiving treatment in a hospital in Idlib governorate.”
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the pregnant woman and her fetus were killed, while adding that only one other person was injured. Zaiton mag gave the highest estimate that nine civilians were injured in the airstrikes on Mantef.
@Nabel_othman023 tweeted that “residential neighborhoods were targeted in the village of Mantef, near the city of Jericho this afternoon”.
All of the sources that reported on the incident attributed the strikes to Russia or did not distinguish whether Russia or the regime was responsible.
