Airwars Assessment
(Previous Incident Code: R1903)
At least one civilian, a child, was killed and others, including women and children, were injured in alleged Russian airstrikes against Douma in the Damascus countryside, according to sources on the ground.
Conflicting reports were given as to who was responsible for the airstrikes. The majority of sources, including @Omar_Madaniah and @ahmadalqalmone, identified Russian planes as being responsible for the airstrikes. However, @SyriaPressorg1 attributed the airstrikes to the regime and the Syrian Network for Human Rights pointed to both regime and Russian as carrying out shelling on Douma.
Even as civil defense teams were attempting to rescue civilians from the rubble, missiles continued to strike the city of Douma. According to @Doumarevolutio1, and both airstrikes and artillery shells struck residential neighborhoods and led to casualties.
