Civilian homes and shops in the Al Shamali neighbourhood of the city of Jisr Al Shaghour, Idlib governorate, were struck by alleged Russian or Syrian missiles in what was described “a massacre”, killing up to eight civilians and wounding at least 14,

According to Edlib Media Center, at least three people were killed in the attack. Syrian Civil Defense forces, who were at the scene, put the death toll higher and reported a total of five killed and eight wounded civilians.

The Syrian Coalition reported on its website that “six civilians, one of them a child, were killed, while nine others were injured.” Whereas @DasmanNewsCom reported seven killed, @shabablatamni tweeted that the death toll “increased to 8 martyrs”.

Jisr Media Center identified the victims of the airstrikes and found that six civilians were killed and 14 were wounded. The source reported that among those killed were two children and one elderly woman. The source added that among the wounded were four wounded children and four wounded women.

According to Horrya, there were three children of the same family among the seven fatalities. While Horrya reported 10 wounded, other sources, such as Orient News, reported up to 20 or “dozens” of injured.

@HadiAlabdallah reported the use of eight vacuum missiles, blaming the Syrian regime for the strike. The SCD reported that 11 guided missiles were used.

The Syrian Civil Defence shared a video of their volunteers searching for victims underneath the rubble. According to a civil defense activist in the city of Idlib, the video shows “the extent of the destruction that befell the hospital after it was targeted by two explosive missiles, killing six people, destroying medical equipment and ambulance vehicles, in addition to being completely out of service.”

Sources blamed both Russia and the Syrian regime for the strikes.
