Four to five civilians were reported killed in airstrikes on Deir Al Gharbi, Idlib, on August 21st. Up to ten others were reported injured.

A tweet by @anasanas84 named the civilians killed as Wael Ahmed Al-Asaad, Hussein Omar Deeb Al-Asaad, Waleed al-Deek, and Muhammad Abdul Majeed Al-Rimi, from Khan Al-Sabil.

In line with other sources, both Shahba Press and Edlib Media Center reported “three civilian martyrs and several wounded” “due to raids by Russian occupation aircraft on the town of Deir al-Gharbi.”

Meanwhile, an early report from Shaam News reported the death of one child in Deir Al Gharbi, yet followed this with reports of “five martyrs and a number of wounded in Deir Al Gharbi” as a result of ” Syrian regime & Russian warplanes and helicopters launch[ing[ dozens of airstrikes in a number of locations.

Syrian Network for Human Rights stated that “at least four civilians, including a woman, were killed as warplanes we believe were Russian fired missiles on al Deir al Gharbi […], on August 21st, 2019” and a tweet by @anasanas84 also identified four people as killed.

@mahmoudalbakor1 said that cluster missiles were used by the Regime in the attack, while said in another tweet that the Russian forces attacked the area with highly explosive rockets.

Sources variously attributed the attack to Russian forces and the Syrian regime.
