In a second reported strike in Jaar on May 27th 2012, a house allegedly used as a meeting place by AQAP militants was “pounded” by warplanes, reported Xinhua.
Ten alleged AQAP fighters were killed including two local leaders according to a tribal chief. There are currently no known reports of civilian harm.
Xinhua did not apportion blame, but as the Yemeni government forces are backed by US military, US involvement cannot be ruled out.

Reports of the incident mention that the airstrike targeted a house in the town of Ja’ar (جعار). Due to limited information and satellite imagery available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location of this house. The generic coordinates for the town of Ja’ar (جعار) are: 13.223161, 45.305486.
