On Dec.7, Coalition military forces conducted 23 strikes against ISIL terrorists in Syria and Iraq. In Syria, Coalition military forces conducted 12 strikes using attack, bomber,fighter, and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL targets. Additionally in Iraq, Coalition military forces conducted 11 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using attack, fighter, and remotely pilotedaircraft against ISIL targets.

Syria * Near Ar Raqqah, six strikes engaged two ISIL tactical units and a staging area; destroyed a mortarsystem, a fighting position, and a training camp; and damaged two supply routes * Near Ayn Isa, two strikes destroyed an ISIL road block and damaged four supply routes

* Near Dayr Az Zawr, three strikes destroyed 17 oil tanker trucks and three oil wellheads

* Near Manbij, one strike destroyed an ISILvehicle

Iraq * Near Al Qaim, one strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed two ISIL -held buildings. * Near Baghdad, one strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit. * Near Bayji, one strike destroyed an ISIL mortar cache. * Near Mosul, five strikes [2 British] engaged two ISIL tactical units; destroyed 11 armored vehicles, five vehicles, four ISIL-held buildings, three VBIEDs, two fighting positions, two mortar systems, a VBIED facility, a front-endloader, and an artillery system; damaged three supply routes, three ISIL-held buildings, and an armored vehicle; and suppressed five tactical units. * Near Ramadi, one strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit. * Near Rawah, two strikes destroyed an ISIL bunker and a mounted artillery system.

SOUTHWEST ASIA – On Dec. 6th, Iraqi Security Forces attempted to seize the Al Salem hospital complex from ISIL fighters in the heart of East Mosul. ISIL was using the hospital as a base of operations and command and control headquarters. After seizing the area, the ISF fought off several counterattacks and six VBIEDs the following day before retrograding a short distance, under heavy enemy fire, to strengthen their position.On Dec. 7th, after Iraqi forces continued to receive heavy and sustained machine gun and rocket propelled grenade fire from ISIL fighters in a building on the hospital complex, they requested immediate support from the Coalition. In support of the Iraqi Security Forces, Coalition aircraft conducted a precision strike on the location to target enemy fighters firing on Iraqi forces.The Coalition complies with the Law of Armed Conflict and takes all feasible precautions during the planning and execution of airstrikes to reduce the risk of harm to non-combatants. We will continue to strike ISIL military targets in support of our partners in order to defeat ISIL in Iraq.

Wednesday 7 December – Typhoons bombed a bunker in western Iraq and a Daesh-held building north of Mosul, while a Reaper struck three groups of terrorists in the east of the city…On Wednesday 7 December, a pair of Typhoons, armed with Paveway IV guided bombs, and supported by a Voyager air refuelling tanker, attacked a Daesh bunker dug into the hills some 25 miles north-west of Haditha. After the attack, smoke rose from the tunnel entrances some distance away, proving that the strike was successful. A second pair of Typhoons operated north of Mosul, where they used a Paveway IV to destroy a Daesh-held building. Meanwhile, a Reaper continued close air support over eastern Mosul. An armoured truck was tracked as Daesh fighters attempted to hide it in a vehicle shelter, allowing it to be destroyed by coalition jets. The Reaper then conducted three attacks using its own Hellfires against groups of extremists engaged in close combat with the advancing Iraqi troops.

De danske F-16 kampfly har i den seneste uge gennemført 11 missioner.

Der er udført overvågning, efterretningsindhentning samt angreb på kampstillinger, personel, bygninger og faciliteter, der fremstillede improviserede sprængladninger til fremføring med køretøj.Missionerne er foregået over den irakiske provins Ninawa og den syriske provins Ar Raqqah.Fra onsdag 30. november kl. 1200 til onsdag den 7. december kl. 1200 er følgende gældende:Der er fløjet 11 missioner

Det danske træningsbidrag uddanner i denne periode både enheder fra Border Guard Police såvel et mindre bidrag fra den irakiske hær. Der er tale om i alt næsten 500 soldater, der bl.a. har modtaget undervisning i krigens love, våbenbetjening og skydning. C-130 bidrag – Kuwait

Transportflybidraget har i den seneste uge gennemført 5 missioner til destinationer i Irak og Tyrkiet. Bidraget har været udfordret af dårligt vejr i missionsområdet. Resolute Support Mission – Afghanistan

På trods af den seneste tids angreb i Kabul, fortsætte de danske styrkebidrag deres indsats med træning, rådgivning og assistance til opbygning af forskellige enheder fra Afghan National Army. Transporten rundt i landet er udfordret af øget behov for vedligeholdelse af helikoptere i missionen, der betyder at personeltransporter ofte nedprioriteres til fordel for andre opgave.Flyvevåbnet gennemfører for tiden personelrotation ved de forskellige bidrag i missionen. A Mossoul, Daech continue de lutter contre son isolement progressif sous les effets de l’avancée de la coalition.Cependant Daech augmente son activité, notamment dans l’Anbar pour conserver l’Euphrate comme ligne de communication entre Irak et Syrie. Par ailleurs, Daech a mené cette semaine des attaques dans la zone désertique située au sud de l’axe Tal Afar-Sinjar récemment coupé, pour essayer de maintenir ses itinéraires logistiques vers la Syrie.Les actions de Daech visent ainsi à disperser les efforts des FSI et à desserrer l’étau autour de Mossoul.En Syrie, le jeu complexe des différents belligérants engagés contre Daech bloque la situation et aucune progression n’est à noter cette semaine que ce soit vers Al Bab ou vers Raqqah. Avancée sur la bataille de MossoulL’offensive sur Mossoul se poursuit en dépit du mauvais temps qui a impacté l’activité des moyens aériens de la coalition, notamment les missions de renseignement nécessaires pour permettre d’appuyer par la suite les opérations au sol.Les progressions des FSI sont réduites, cependant au sud-est de la ville la 9e brigade est parvenue à reprendre certains blocs des quartiers sud-est tandis que l’ICTS a poursuivi la sécurisation méthodique et lente des quartiers repris. C’est désormais près d’un quart de l’Est de la ville de Mossoul qui est sécurisé par les FSI. Activités de la force ChammalAppui aérien au LevantLes moyens aériens français ont réalisés 70 missions aériennes dont 9 sorties de renseignement et 3 sorties de commandement et de contrôle. Les 58 sorties de reconnaissance armée des Rafale (air et marine) ont permis de conduire 10 Frappes et de neutraliser 11 objectifs.

Focus sur MossoulCette semaine, sur les 10 frappes réalisées, 8 l’ont été sur Mossoul. Les frappes ont visé des groupes de combattants, des positions de mortier de Daech ou des véhicules suicide blindés chargés d’explosifs (VBIED – Vehicule Borne Improvised Explosive Devices)Appui feu – TF Wagram

Le nombre de missions de la TF Wagram a augmenté cette semaine. Le travail de la TF Wagram s’est concentré sur la mission d’appui au profit des FSI dans les opérations de sécurisation autour des poches de résistances dans les environs de Sharqat. La TF a mené 26 missions de tirs (contre 4 la semaine passée) répartis entre 6 missions d’interdiction et 20 missions d’illumination.

Activité du groupe aéronaval

Le groupe aéronaval continue d’opérer au large de la Syrie. Il a reçu la visite cette semaine du lieutenant Général Stephen J. Townsend, commandant de l’opération Inherent Resolve.

* Near Abu Kamal, two strikes destroyed two oil wellheads and an oil pump jack.

* Near Ar Raqqah, three strikes engaged two ISIL tactical units and destroyed two storage sheds, a vehicle, and a decoy tank.

* Near Ayn Isa, three strikes engaged an ISIL tactical unit, destroyed an artillery system, and disabled an ISIL VBIED.

* Near Dayr Az Zawr, three strikes destroyed four wellheads and two oil trucks.

* Near Manbij, one strike destroyed an ISIL decoy artillery system.

* Near Palmyra, one strike destroyed a vehicle.

Iraq

* Near Bayji, one strike destroyed an ISIL heavy machine gun fighting position.

* Near Mosul, three strikes engaged an ISIL tactical unit, destroyed a VBIED facility and an excavator, damaged three supply routes, and suppressed two tactical units.

* Near Ramadi, one strike destroyed an ISIL VBIED and a homemade explosives cache.
