They reported no strikes in Syria.

Mission Update Nr. 5

Radarbidraget

Report Date

July 19, 2016

The Syrian Arab Coalition captured a Da’esh headquarters July 17 in western Manbij, Syria.

The Da’esh headquarters, located in a hospital, was being used as a command center and logistics hub. The SAC also seized a significant amount of the city during the operation, which provided civilians the opportunity to escape.

The SAC continues to fight Da’esh on four fronts within the city of Manbij, carefully clearing territory toward the city center while ensuring the safety of any civilians who still remain.

Da’esh continues to fight hard within the center of Manbij and has mounted local counterattacks against SAC forces, but the SAC is maintaining their momentum with support from Coalition strikes.

Since the operation began, the Coalition has conducted more than 450 strikes near Manbij. These airstrikes destroyed Da’esh heavy weapons, vehicles, fortifications, vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices, VBIED facilities, armored vehicles, technical vehicles, bridges, and caches. The destruction of these Da’esh assets disrupts their operations and make them vulnerable here and on the Mar’a line.

The Coalition-supported Syrian moderate opposition efforts in Manbij continue to weaken Da’esh’s threat to Turkey, Europe, and the United States.

Reports that on July 18, in Mosul, a new raid by two Mirage 2000D and two Mirage 2000N targeted a Daesh complex of several buildings housing a headquarters, a training center for urban combat, and a warehouse of suicide vehicles. At the same, in Tal Afar, two Rafales destroyed a site of several buildings used as training center.

The Syrian Arab Coalition, supported by Coalition strikes, maneuvered toward the center of Manbij City, denying Da’esh access to critical supply routes.

Coalition strikes on key targets halted Da’esh attempts to reinforce positions in the north and severed a main resupply and reinforcement route Da’esh used to conduct vehicle-borne improvised explosive device attacks.

The continued pressure SAC is applying to Da’esh inside the city has enabled civilians to flee through the SAC perimeter and escape Da’esh control.

The fight remains heavily contested. The SAC continues to hold their defensive positions and launch offensive operations into the north and south sides of the city, despite multiple Da’esh attacks with VBIEDs, armored vehicles, and large formations of fighters.

Since the start of the operation, the Coalition has conducted more than 400 strikes near Manbij, destroying Da’esh heavy weapons, vehicles, fortifications, VBIED facilities, armored vehicles, technical vehicles, bridges, and caches.

Ground operations by Syrian moderate opposition forces in Manbij, supported by Coalition air strikes, continue to weaken Da’esh’s threat to Turkey, Europe, and the United States.

Mission Update Nr. 4

Radarbidraget

Radarbidraget

One flight destroyed a heavily armed Daesh truck near Qayyarah, taking great care to avoid causing damage to a nearby mosque. Near Tal Afar a second Typhoon mission struck another armed truck concealed in a covered parking bay – a large secondary explosion followed as the vehicle’s cargo of ammunition detonated.

That night close to the Iraqi border with Syria, a meeting of Daesh commanders was known to be in progress at Kerabilah and a pair of Tornados conducted an attack with a salvo of four Paveway IVs that completely demolished the building. The Tornados then flew north-east to the area north of Bayji and used Brimstone missiles to destroy two terrorist truck-bombs.
