A child was killed and seven others were injured in alleged Russian or Syrian regime airstrikes on the town of Al Bara on June 2nd, 2019, according to local sources.

@HalabTodayTV reported that “a civilian was killed and others were wounded due to the regime air forces’ shelling in the town of Al Bara, south of Idlib, with cluster rockets.”

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that a child was killed the airstrike. According to this source, seven civilians were also injured in the attack.

Ayman Othman wrote on Facebook that Muhammad Kefah Othman was killed in the strikes on the town. The Syrian Human Rights Committee and the Syrian Network for Human Rights also identified Othman as the victim, reporting he was a child.

Other sources also reported additional wounded victims but did not specify a number. Smart News Agency reported that, according to the Syrian Civil Defence, children were among the injured. According to @blaas083, agricultural crops caught fire in the airstrikes.

According to Ayman Othman, the incident occurred “just before” Al Maghrib prayer, which takes place around sunset.

Both Russia and the Syrian regime were named by Shaam News Network as the belligerents responsible for the attack, while several sources referred only the Syrian regime. Other sources did not positively attribute blame.

The incident occured around dusk.

The victim was identified as Youssef Khaled Al-Ali Al-Mubarak. 

While Smart News claimed that “two civilians were wounded in by a missile attack”, Shaam news and @so_ria98 reported one fatality in the airstrike.

Shaam News made reference to the “Russian Air Force and the Assad Air Force” in discussion of the airstrikes, while two other sources did not positively attribute blame.

@ShahbaPress reported “a martyr and four wounded civilians, including a child, in airstrikes on Sheikh Damis village near the city of Khan Sheikhoun, south of #Idlib.”

While the Local Coordination Committee for Syria stated that one civilian was killed and three injured from the same family, Shaam News reported “two martyrs” as a result of the airstrike.

Mohammed Al Saloum identified the victim as Fadi Muhammad Khair Al Hussein, a protection officer at the Sheikh Dams School.

Both Russia and the Syrian regime were named as the active belligerents by Shaam News, while the Local Coordination Committee for Syria named only the Syrian regime, and Syria Civil Defense did not positively attribute blame for the airstrike.

The Syrian Civil Defence in Idlib wrote that “the civil defence immediately went to the place and to check it. The result was the death of a woman and the enormous destruction of homes and properties.”

While Smart News Agency and @syrianmosaic attributed the attack to the Syrian regime, Shaam News Network named both Russia and the Syrian regime as responsible for the attack. Other sources did not specify the belligerent of the strikes.

Local sources reported that two civilians were killed and another one was wounded in alleged Russian airstrikes on the city of Khan Sheikhoun in Idlib on June 1st, 2019. The wounded man reportedly died from his injuries sustained in the attack the following day.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights initially reported that two civilians had been killed and at least four more were wounded in several Russian airstrikes on Khan Sheikoun on June 1st. According to “Lens of khan Sheikhoun and its countryside”, the strikes took place before “breakfast hours”.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights recorded the deaths of the brothers Amin Khaled Shahhoud al Najm and Khaled Shahhoud al Najm, holding Russian airstrikes responsible for their deaths.

Smart News Agency reported one injured civilian. On June 2nd, the SNHR wrote that “Ahmad Khaled al Ali, from Abdin village in Idlib governorate southern suburbs, died on June 2, due to wounds sustained on June 1, as fixed-wing warplanes we believe were Russian [targeted] Khan Sheikhoun city in Idlib governorate southern suburbs.”

According to Orient News, “the city of Khan Sheikhoun, south of Idlib, was hit by three high-explosive long-range missiles.”

@riad_agha tweeted that the city was bombed for a second time “with burning phosphorous” around 10.25 AM. No other source mentioned the use of phosphorous.

All sources blamed Russian aircraft for the attack who, according to one local source, carried out the airstrike with rocket-propelled grenades.
