Airwars assessment

One civilian was reported killed and one or two reported injured by an explosive remnant of war in Kufra.

Al Wasat said: “Two youths were injured when a shell exploded in the airport neighborhood in the southeastern city of Kufra on Thursday evening, local sources said.

The sources said that the shell was a remnant of the war in the region during the past years, and the explosion wounded two young Omar Saad al-Shamekh and Marei Mohammed al-Sabbagh, who were immediately rescued to the city hospital for treatment.

The same sources pointed out that the two young men have been amputated in the limbs because of the force of the missile explosion, and need urgent surgical intervention.”

Libya’s Channel provided a different account of events: “One person was killed and another injured in the city of Kufra, as a shell exploded left over from the clashes that took place in the city during the past years.

According to the reporter from Libya’s Channel in the city that the two citizens were severely injured by the explosion, and severed limbs, and after being transferred to the hospital, one of them died and the other was given the necessary assistance, explaining that they were trying to remove the shell from its place so as not to harm others, and during the attempt to remove them exploded and transported And then to the city hospital.”

Two civilians were reportedly killed in an airstrike by the LNA or a foreign fighter plane on Tripoli. However, the combatant status of the victims is contested.

Al Mashhad said: “A spokesman for the Ministry of Health of the GNA in Tripoli said that two civilians, one of them an employee of the Ministry of Health, were killed in an air strike on Friday morning targeting the headquarters of Al Nawasi battalion of the Ministry of Interior of the National Accord government.”

Libya Observer also claimed they were civilians and named the victims: “Witnesses reported that windows to residential buildings nearby the targeted site were broken, due to the force of the explosion.

The Ministry of Health confirmed the death of two people in the attack; one of them was a staff member of the ministry, who was killed by the shrapnel of the shelling.

The head of the ministry’s crisis and emergency committee, Fawzi Onis, said the employee at the ministry’s office, Marwan Jernazi, was killed on the line of duty while treating the patients and injured.”

Hona Souq Al-Khmies and Address Libya said the victims were in fact members of the GNA-affiliated Nawasi battalion

The Libya Observer reported: “One person was killed and at least 12 others, including women and children, were injured when indiscriminate rocket shells fell on a condolences tent in Bouhdima district of Benghazi.

Local sources said the shells were fired from Majouri district, in memory of one of the so-called Dignity Operation members, killed in the war on Tripoli.”

However, Libya Alahrar TV said the reason was gunfire: “A private source confirmed to the Free Libya Channel that one person was killed as a result of indiscriminate shooting at a mourning tent in Bouhdima area southeast of Benghazi.

The source added to the Free Libya channel that the incident resulted in the injury of a dozen other people were injured without giving the nature of their injuries.”
