Airwars assessment

Three to four civilians were killed due to injuries sustained in an earlier shelling on Douma, according to local media. Sources attributed this strike to both Russia and the Syrian regime.

According to SHRC.arabic, “three people affected by the impact of a previous air strike that targeted the city of Douma in the province of Damascus countryside died on Sunday”.

The Violations Documentation Centre named four adult male victims, blaming the “Syrian government and affiliated militias” for their deaths.

The date of the previous strike is unclear. Airwars research has concluded that the civilians were most likely killed in the alleged Russian strike, RS3138, on Douma (March 2nd). It must be noted that this is an educated guess, we have no evidence to prove this.

Airwars assessment

Four named civilians died and up to 20 more were wounded in strikes on the northern neighbourhood of Al Rahiba town, Damascus, local media reported – though it was unclear whether Russia or the regime were to blame for the casualties.

According to Syria News Desk, “Russian warplanes launched five raids on al Rahiba town which is under the control of the opposition in the eastern Qalamoun in the northern Damascus countryside focusing on the northern neighbourhood. This led to the death of two civilians and the injury of 20 others – and widespread destruction.”

However, @yas39779445 reported that the regime fired cluster bombs on the town.

@SRV_News added that “Regime forces were preventing the entry of vegetables to the city Al Rahiba for the second day running – as well as preventing the entry and exit of civilians”.

Airwars assessment

Local sources reported that air or artillery strikes killed up four civilians as they struck the neighbourhood of al-Ansari, Aleppo. The responsible belligerent was, however, unclear with one source pointing to the Syrian regime and another two attributing the incident to Russia.

The incident was reportedly part of a larger aerial shelling of Aleppo, that in total killed and wounded “dozens” on December 8th 2016, Aletihad Press News reported. According to that source, the shelling of al-Ansari led to four civilian fatalities.

@abdulrahm55an41 published a video from the aftermath of the shelling, showing the dead body of one civilian man.

Despite the general reporting from Aleppo, no known sources mentioned the number of wounded in al-Ansari that day.

The local time of the incident is unknown.
