Airwars assessment

Between three and eight civilians including a child and a woman died in alleged Russian or Assad regime airstrikes on Aleppo al Hallak neighbourhood, according to sources on the ground.

Al Jazeera reported that three civilians died in a strike by regime warplanes.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights, who blamed Russia, put the number killed at “at least 4 civilians including a woman”.

But Baladi News and Halab News Network put the death toll at eight, including a child.

Sources were conflicted on who was responsible. Most reports  attributed the incident to Russia, while only al-Jazeera pointed to the Assad regime as the culprit. But Akhbar Al-an claimed that both parties were responsible.

Baladi News also reported that there was “shelling with missiles.”

The local time of the incident is unknown.

It should be noted that the Syrian Network for Human Rights reported deaths were caused by “government warplanes (allies) missiles”, which despite mentioning of the Syrian regime, most likely still pointed to Russia as “the ally”.
