Airwars assessment

Four or five civilians died and others were wounded in alleged airstrikes on Fardous, according to local sources – though reports were conflicted or unclear as to whether this was the work of Russia or the Assad regime.

On Twitter, Syriam_m_m as well as Wesal_tv reported that five people died and many were wounded “in Russian shelling on Al-Fardus neighbourhood, Aleppo.” Similar information was reported by Shaam News Network which said that Russian airstrikes killed five civilians and wounded a number of others. Jisr_tv published a video in which it blamed Russia for the “massacre”. The SRG also said Russia was responsible.

Other sources were unclear about who was responsible for the airstrikes. A further news brief by SNN referred to strikes by regime and Russian planes and did not differentiate between the two. The White Helmets reported that “warplanes” targeted neighborhoods in Aleppo. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights too reported that Fardous was bombarded but did not say by whom. In a tweet, Syria_24 reported an incident in Karm-Al-Beik neighbourhood and spoke of four people allegedly killed, yet it did not say who carried out the raids.

Furthermore, the Syrian Network for Human Rights blamed the regime, putting the death toll at four.

The local time of the incident is unknown.

Airwars assessment

Up to 12 civilians including two children and two women died and 15 others were injured in airstrikes on Sakhour according to multiple sources – though they were unclear as to whether the raids were carried out by Russia or the Assad regime.

Shaam News Network reported that regime and Russian aircraft continued to strike eastern Aleppo:  “This morning Russian aircraft and the regime launched helicopter raids on neighborhoods of the city of Aleppo targeting the neighborhoods of al Mowasalat, al Sakhour, Bani Zaid and al Ashrafiya killing  a number of martyrs when they targeted a popular market in Alsakhour neighborhood”.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights blamed the regime, initially reporting that four non-combatants including a girl died. A second report said regime missiles fired on a supermarket “caused a massacre and damaged shops“. It went on to put the death toll at 12, though another report said 11:  “warplanes targeted Al Sakhour district, controlled by the opposition armed factions, causing .the deaths of 11 people, including a child and a woman.” In a tweet by Salam_Afraty2 it was also claimed that Russia was responsible for the shelling, leading to the death of 10 and leaving 30 wounded.

The Al Thiqa agency published a video which said that “warplanes” (it did not identify them) targeted the popular market in Sakhour, leading to “the deaths of six people and more than 10 injured most of them women and children“. The video shows the first moments of the bombing.

The White Helmets also posted a video showing bodies and casualties, referring only to “warplanes“. It put the death toll at eight with 15 more wounded. Images appeared to depict members of the rescue operation placing dismembered bodies in bags.

Similarly, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights did not identify the warplanes but put the death toll at eight including two children and two women.
The Violations Documentation Center documented four victims (1, 2, 3), but only identified one by name.

The local time of the incident is unknown.

The victims were named as:

Airwars assessment

Three civilians including one woman and one child died and eight others were injured in airstrikes on Al Mowasalat in Aleppo, according to local sources – though some were unclear as to whether this was a Russian or regime incident.

Smart News agency published a video showing the aftermath of an alleged Russian strike in which three died including a woman and a child and more than eight were wounded. The footage includes interviews: Hussein from the neighboorhood said that “this is a civilian area and yet the Russians have bombed it.” Abu Yahya, a paramedic said “this is a civilian area and there are not armed groups here. The place which was targeted is a school for children and children were inside playing, what are they shooting at?

A video by Halab news agency said two or three civilians died and more than five were injured in “regime and Russian airstrikes,” while a tweet by Baladi showed “the effects of destruction in Russian shelling Al-Mowasalat“.

Shaam News Network said that regime and Russian warplanes killed several people including children. The Syrian Network for Human Rights blamed the Assad regime and reported that “at least” a woman and a child had been victims of the regime shelling.

Two victims were listed by the VDC as killed in “warplane shelling” by “Syrian government and affiliated militias“:

Unidentified – child, male

Unidentified – adult, female

Airwars assessment

Up to five civilians including three children died in airstrikes on Kamari, Aleppo, according to multiple sources – though sources are conflicted as to whether this was the work of Russia or the Assad regime.

A tweet by Jabalybarra (an Al Jazeera-affiliated photographer in Aleppo) said a child was killed in the Al-Salheen neighbourhood: “Reports says he was killed while eating. A first aider was also thought to be killed on the same strike.” He did not say who was responsible.

A video posted by the Mohammed Al-Halabi YouTube channel showed the “aftermath of the Russian and regime airstrikes on Al Mash-had neighbourhood“. According to the Shaam News Network, three children from the same family died in Russian raids on the Kamari neighborhood.

However, the Syrian Network for Human Rights blamed the regime for the death of the three children.

The local time of the incident is unknown.

Airwars assessment

Airstrikes on the Tareeq al-Bab neighborhood of Aleppo killed between 10 and 17 civilians and injured at least 20 more, according to local sources. Reports did not definitively identify the warplanes responsible, with some referring to Russia and the regime, while others attributed the incident solely to the regime.

The White Helmets said two raids targeted civilian areas, leading to the death “of more than 12 people including women and children and dozens were injured” – though did not say who carried them out. Shaam News Network posted a video showing destruction caused by “Syrian and Russian aviation raids on neighborhoods of the city of Aleppo“. It said that activists had confirmed the occurrence of “a massacre in Ahalouanah roundabout in the neighborhood of Tareeq al bab“. They put the death toll at 13.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights blamed the regime, initially putting the death toll at nine, but later at 10 including two children – with 12 others wounded. In a tweet, Aba-z72 also blames the regime for the “new massacre”. Likewise,  Aranews held regime military airplanes responsible for the raids. It puts the death toll at 12 and reported that “more than two dozens others” were wounded.  A witness told SN4HR: “The bombing happened around 11:00 am. There were two warplanes. One of them targeted the main road of Tareeq Al Bab Neirborhood and the other targeted the residential Bourj Al Bakhera area. There were less than ten minutes between the two missiles. I arrived at the site when the Rescue and civil defense teams were picking the corpses out of the rubble. They were able to withdraw 15 people from the rubble of the ruins of the upper floors, while about 12 dead persons were.still under the rubble The destruction was very huge as it extended to five houses, a food warehouse, a pharmacy, a secondhand tools center, and a store seling diesel fuel. In addition a Suzuki pickup truck and a motorcycle were destroyed. The targeted place is a civilian neighborhood, where there are no headquarters for army or any Islamic organizations and the victims were all civilians.

Fifteen images showing destruction of the area were published by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, who referred only to “warplanes” causing 17 deaths in Tareeq al-Bab. According to the White Helmets, “warplanes” targeted a popular market, killing 12 people and injuring 20 more. Shahed Ayan News reported the same number of people killed, and spoke of “dozens wounded”. In a video by Baha’a Al-Halabi it was said that the warplanes targeted the local market Al-Bab, leading to 9 people so far. It reported that “some of the deads were burned to death. The civil defense forces have rescued children of various ages, the youngest are months old.”

The Violations Documentation Center named six victims as killed in “warplane shelling” – blaming the regime and allied forces.

The local time of the incident is unknown.

Airwars assessment

Local sources reported that between 18 and 20 civilians died in alleged regime and Russian raids on neighborhoods in Aleppo.

According to the Shaam News Network, “regime and Russian planes” carried our raids “targeting most of Aleppo’s neighbourhoods: Tareeq al Bab, Al Mayssar, al Rashideen, Bustan al Qasr, Al Marja, Sallahudeen, Aqyool, Bab al Nayrab, Bab al Hadeed, Al Mouwasalat, al Haydariya, al Mashhad, Al Ansari, Al Sukkari, Al Salheen and al Shi’aar which led to the fall of dozens of dead and wounded, all of whom are civilian. The final count is more than 20 martyr in Bustan al Qasr, Salah Al Deen, al Muwasalat, al Salheen and Aqyoo”.

In a tweet, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that five people had been killed “in shelling on Bustan Al Qaser and Anadan, Aleppo”. In a later report it said that “no less than 10 were killed or wounded by aerial bombardment targeted Bustan al-Qaser neighborhood“, but they did not identify the planes. It later added that a minimum of 19 civilians died in 14 strikes by “warplanes on areas in the neighborhoods of Al-Ansari, Bostan al-Qasr, al-Sekkary, Bab al-Nairab, al-MashHad, Haidariya and al-Salhin and other neighborhoods controlled by factions in Aleppo“, and said that the death toll was likely to rise due to the seriousness of injuries.

However, the Syrian Network for Human Rights blamed the regime for the attacks in Bustan Al Qasr , Salah Al Deen (in which they said one child died), Aqyool (in which 10-year-old Abdul Rahman was killed) and Bab Al Nairab (in which five died).

The Violations Documentation Center named Abdulr-Rahman Al-Jesri, a 13 year old boy, and said he was killed by shelling in Aqiwl. It blamed the “Syrian government and affiliated militias”.

The local time of the incident is unknown.
