One civilian died in an alleged Russian or regime air or artillery strike on Telmens, according to local media on January 22nd 2020.

Edlib Media Centre reported: “The body of a young man who was martyred in a previous regime artillery shelling in Talmans town, south of Idlib, was found.”

According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, “Muhammad Khaled al Na’san was killed on January 22, when he went to his house to take some of his family belongings to their place of displacement as Syrian regime forces’ artillery fired shells on Talmennes town in the eastern suburbs of Idlib governorate.”

Local Coordination Committees of Syria also named the victim, adding that he was 37-years-old, and that he died in regime artillery shelling. The source added that the strike occurred at 09:35 local time.

The Shaam News Network noted that both Russian and regime warplanes “launched dozens of airstrikes” across cities and towns in Idlib, killing one civilian in Telmens.

Step News reported five wounded.

@Ahmad_1alshble tweeted that the injured were identified as: Falak Talal Magago, aged 8, Masa Talal Magago, aged three, Salsabil Muhammad Magago, aged six months, Lana Abdel Rahman Magago, aged 35,  Fahima Mahmoud Zaqzak, aged 60, Sondos Mohamed Magago, aged 15, Bisan Talal Mahago, aged 13, Zina Mohamed Magago, aged 10. According to Al Jazeera, at least five were from the same family.

The Syrian Civil Defence told Shaam News Network that “Russian warplanes carried out double raids that targeted Civil Defence teams during their work in giving first aid in the city of Ariha to those who were injured as a result of the first air raid, pointing out that the double raids resulted in the burning of the civil defense ambulance and injured several civilians”.

All sources reported Russia as the belligerent for this specific incident, but it should be noted that the Syrian regime was also conducting air raids in the area, as reported by Shaam News Network.

A local source, @EyadHoms20, reported that the Russian forces used vacuum missiles.

Shaam News Network reported that the Kafar Hamra, Khan Al Asal, Khalsa, Khan Toman, Al Zorba, Zaitan, Al Hamira, Shwayneh, Lirmoun, Kafar Dael, and Al Qalagiya were targeted by Russian and Syrian regime airstrikes.

Step Agency reported that “the town of Kafarnaha, the town of Kafardael, and the Al Rashideen area were subjected to several airstrikes loaded with vacuum missiles by Russian warplanes, while the Syrian opposition forces targeted the positions of the Syrian regime forces in the neighbourhood of Zahraa with artillery shells in the western countryside of Aleppo and in the northern countryside, the Lirmoun region and the villages and towns of Shuwihaina. The Lirmoun and Kafr Hamra were bombed with barrel bombs and airstrikes from the Syrian regime’s helicopters and Russian warplanes”.

Step further wrote that Russian warplanes conducted airstrikes and shelling with explosive barrels in the towns of Khalsa, Khan Tuman, Hamira and Zaitan.

Three civilians, a mother and her two children were killed and another child was injured in alleged Russian airstrikes on the village of Arinba, Idlib governorate, in the night between January 22nd 2020 and January 23rd 2020, according to local sources.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that it had “documented the death of three civilians of the same family (a boy, a girl and a woman) as a result of airstrikes carried out this morning by Russian jets” on the village, which is located in Jabal Al Zawiya. The Syrian Network for Human Rights reported that the incident targeted Al Gharbi neighbourhood in the village. According to @osama_sy87 another girl was also injured.

According to the Syrian Civil Defence, the Russian strikes targeted a residential neighbourhood in the village around midnight. The BBC News reported that the Syrian Civil Defense told them that “a woman and her two children were killed in a village of Arnabeh after midnight.” Macro Media Center and Step News, however, reported that the incident occurred at dawn. Step News added that the family was sleeping when the incident occured.

Shaam News Network reported that the strikes hit the house of the family, killing the mother and two of her children, and injuring the rest of the family.

The incident occured between 12:00 am and 6:00 am local time.

Six children and a man were reported injured as a result of the explosion of a cluster bomb remnant of an alleged previous Russian or Syrian regime airstrike on Dar Ezza in Aleppo, Syria, on January 23rd 2020.

SMART said: “Six children and a young man were injured Thursday, as a result of the explosion of the remnants of a cluster bomb from the remnants of a previous bombing by the Syrian regime forces on the city of Dar Ezza (25 km west of Aleppo) in northern Syria.”  The Syrian Civil Defense said that two of the children are in a serious condition.

According to the Syrian Civil Defense, the injured civilians and their ages are: Mustafa Ahmed Aeg, aged 5, Ali Ahmed Ahmed Aeg, aged 10, Bashir Mustafa Aeg,  aged 18, Hassan Moustafa Aeg, aged 9, Abdullah Alaa Saleh, aged 7, Nasrallah Bashir Homs, aged 12 years and Walid Khaled Shahama, aged 13. @HalabTodayTV added that two of those injured were in critical condition.

SMART also quoted Syrian Civil Defense Post to note that the 18-year-old man and three of the children have the same family name, but their relationship is not known yet.

The village of Dar Ezza is a densely populated civilian area that had endured numerous bombings. The bomb that wounded seven civilians was an unexploded cluster bomb from an earlier raid.

Halab Today TV and Civil Defense identified the raids as carried out by Russian warplanes. It is unknown when the bomb was originally dropped.

Three children were killed alongside two adults in alleged Russian airstrikes on a farm housing displaced people near Saraqib, Idlib governorate, on January 23rd, 2020, according to local sources. Up to fifteen people, including children and women, were injured.

According to Step News Agency correspondent Hassan Al Muhammed, “the Russian aviation inflicted a massacre on the displaced people on a farm they were taking refuge in, near the city of Saraqib, east of Idlib. This resulted in the death of 5 people and the injury of 10 others from the same family, including children and women.”

Local sources tweeted that the following civilians were killed: Fatima Izz Al Din (50), Musab Khatoun (26), Murhaf Musab Khatoun (1), Basil Khatoun (1), Radwan Khatoun, (11).

Muhammed Al Ali, an activist, told Jeron that the Russian aircraft conducted several airstrikes, killing five civilians and wounded another five, including two children. He noted that the family fled their village of Al Hamra in the eastern countryside of Hama two years earlier after the regime took control over the village.

SMART reported that there were three children and one woman among the wounded. A correspondent for Baladi News reported that “Russian warplanes targeted a farm located about five km away from the city of Saraqib, sheltering IDPs from the countryside of Idlib, with rockets, killing five of them and wounding 15 others with varying injuries.”

Although most sources reported that the airstrike targeted a farm or a “house on farmland”, Edlib Media Center gave conflicting reports. EMC first stated the attack hit a petrol station in which the displaced family had sought refuge, but wrote in a later report that the family had been residing in tents.

Media Idlib reported that one man was killed and homes were destroyed in Kafar Albatiekh. Civil Defense confirmed the death and the recovery of the body, but no name was released. Local reports also noted a number of civilians were wounded, but no names or numbers were released.

The village of Kafar Albatiekh is a civilian area and numerous homes were destroyed by a combination of machine gun fire and barrel bombs.

Halab Today along with local sources reported the use of MiG-21 warplanes that belong to the Assad regime. Shaam News attributed the strikes to both Russian and regime strikes while @so_ria98 blamed Russian forces.

One man was wounded by an alleged Russian or regime airstrike against the village of Benin on January 25th 2020.

Local residents reported that two air raids struck Benin. Baladi News reported that Benin was one village that was a target of over 200 airstrikes carried out by the Assad regime. Ariha Today noted one injury, and the man was identified as Yakeen Yaser Bido.

Both residents of Benin along with news agencies reported that the airstrikes were carried out by warplanes belonging to the Assad regime. However, a Facebook post by Yakeen Yaser Bido attributed the airstrikes to Russian forces. @MasarPressNet identified vacuum missiles as being used in the attack.
