One civilian was killed on October 20th 2019 by fragments from an unexploded cluster bomb, that was dropped earlier by alleged Russian and/or Syrian regime warplanes in the city of Ma’aret Al Numan, as reported by several local sources. It is unclear when the bomb was dropped.

Mostafa Abo Abdo said that the explosion took place in front of the victim’s house.

Justice Organisation identified the man as Najm Deeb Al Asfar (Abu Diab) and stated on Facebook that the incident occurred in the southern neighbourhood of the city. The victim was reported injured initially but was later said that he had died.

The Syrian Network of Human Rights commented on the incident by stating on Facebook that they have previously highlighted that remnants of weapons pose a threat to civilians and that special equipment is needed to help civilians remove explosive remnants.

Up to two children were reported killed and between four and seven civilians were injured in an alleged Russian forces or Syrian regime forces airstrike on Mishmishan in Jisr al Shoghour, Idlib – Syria on November 7th, 2019 according to local sources. It was reported that four civilians of the same family were among the injured.

A tweet by @MoamenRawy reported “Haitham Hussein Al-Saleh, a volunteer in the civil defense in Idlib district, was injured with his family in the town of Mishmishan, as a result of Assad’s warplanes targeting civilian homes today, Thursday.”

According to Syrian Civil Defense, a member of the team recovered bodies of two children of his relatives and rescued his mother from their destroyed home after the attack.

@NagiNajjar listed other injured civilians, who were taken to Darkoush Hospital: Ahmad Haitham Al-Saleh, 4 years old; Mustafa Ibrahim Al-Youssef, 41 years old; Maryam Ahmed Khayro, 55 years old; Emad Jumaa Hallaj, 35 years old; Samira Ismail Aswad, 28 years old. Yusef Kamal Khayro, 4.5 years old was identified as being killed in the strikes.

A Facebook post by Sham Masri added that the child Hussain Firas Khairo was also killed.

A tweet from @almo3tasem91 reported “the death toll from the Russian militia’s bombing of the town of “Mishmishan” in the western countryside of Idlib has increased to two children and 7 wounded, including a member of the Civil Defense.”

According to @media_idlib, the attack struck “the center of the village with two missiles at once” and attributed the strikes to the regime.

Step News reported that vacuum missiles were used in the attack and “[killed] two children and [wounded] seven civilians, including critical injuries, in the town of Meshmshan,” attributing the strikes to the regime.

Sources were conflicted as to whether the regime or Russia was responsible for the strike.

Three civilians were reported to have been killed and at least eight injured by either Syrian regime forces or Russian forces in an airstrike on November 16th 2019 in Maarzita, in the de-escalation zone in Idlib, northern Syria.

According to various sources such as Halab Today and Syria TV, one civilian was a doctor on duty with the Idlib Health Directorate, identified as Doctor Mohamed Hashum. Syria TV reports that he was “wounded in the bombing while carrying out a mission to assess the medical and emergency situation in the southern countryside of Idlib.” SOHR News reported that Dr Hashum later died of wounds sustained in the airstrike.

Although the majority of sources identify the deceased doctor as Mohamed Hashum, Abo Ameer Al Homsi and SNHR described him as Jamal Hashoum.

Various sources reported injured civilians. Step News reported that there were ten casualties, who were “transferred by the Civil Defense to hospitals”, whereas Shahba Press puts the number wounded at eight.

There were various mentions that “barrel bombs” were used in the attack, some sources attributed them to ‘Russian warplanes’ whilst others said that they were from “Assad’s helicopters”.

A local source on social media with handle @Mohmad_Rasheed included a video of the moment the airstrike hit Maarzita.

Several civilians were injured due to an alleged Russian airstrike on the city of Atarib in the morning of January 17th, 2019,

Four alleged airstrikes targeting the city of Atarib have resulted in the injury of several people, according to the Frmedianetwork and HalabTodayTV reported that “several civilians were injured as a result of four airstrikes on the outskirts of the town of Atarib”. None of the sources specified how many people were injured.

The SCD Aleppo reported that in addition to civilian harm, material damage has been reported, that being damage to a residential building and damage of an undefined public facility. Local sources added that shelling mainly happened on the main roads in the outskirts of Atareb.

Shawki.dele.sy reported on the times of the alleged airstrikes, alleging that three of the  attacks happened at 11:48; 11:53 and 12:23.

Edlib Media Center (EMC) and other sources reported Russian airstrikes caused civilian harm and material damage and EMC posted photos that show |the effects of the destruction caused by the bombing of the Russian occupation aviation.”

All of the sources attributed the strikes to Russia and @la1mea identified vacuum missiles being used in the strikes.
