On Sept. 15, coalition military forces conducted 17 strikes against ISIL terrorists in Syria and Iraq. In Syria, coalition military forces conducted 10 strikes using attack, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL targets. Additionally in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted seven strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using attack, fighter, and remotely piloted aircraft and rocket artillery against ISIL targets. The following is a summary of the strikes conducted against ISIL since the last press release:

Syria

* Near Abu Kamal, six strikes destroyed five ISIL supply routes, two oil well heads, six oil tanker trucks, a bulldozer, and a bobcat.

* Near Al Shadaddi, one strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed a vehicle.

* Near Dayz Az Zawr, three strikes destroyed eight ISIL oil tanker trucks and seven oil well heads.

Iraq

* Near Al Baghdadi, one strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed a bunker.

* Near Albu Hayat, one strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an artillery system, a vehicle, a tunnel entrance and damaged another vehicle.

* Near Bashir, one strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit.

* Near Mosul, one strike engaged an ISIL logistics facility.

* Near Qayyarah, one strike engaged an ISIL tactial unit.

* Near Ramadi, one strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed a building, a vehicle, a fuel truck, and five rocket rails.

* Near Sultan Abdallah, one strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed two mortar systems and a weapons cache.

Thursday 15 September – a Reaper destroyed yet another mortar near Al Hawd, Typhoons hit a cave and terrorist vehicle south-east of Haditha…On Thursday 15 September, a Reaper tracked terrorists carrying mortar ammunition near Al Hawd. The terrorists led them to a concealed mortar, which was duly struck with a Hellfire. In western Iraq, a group of Daesh had been identified hiding in a cave some ten miles south-east of Haditha; two Typhoons scored a direct hit on the cave entrance with one Paveway IV, then used a second to destroy their truck parked some distance away.

Wednesday 14 September – a Reaper struck a further two mortars near Qayyarah and Al Hawd, while Typhoons bombed Daesh-held buildings south-east of Mosul…Another Reaper accounted for a further two mortar teams on Wednesday 14 September, one near Qayyarah, the other closer to Al Hawd. The same day, Typhoon FGR4s patrolled further north, around Mosul; south-east of the city, they were tasked to engage two Daesh-held buildings which Iraqi forces had enountered out in the countryside. Both targets were demolished using Paveway IV guided bombs.

Kampflybidraget

De danske F-16 kampfly har i den seneste uge fløjet 10 missioner. Missionerne har fundet sted over de irakiske provinser Erbil, Dahuk og Ninawa samt de syriske provinser Al Raqqah, Halab og Al Hasakah.

Missionerne har omfattet angreb på morterstillinger, bygninger, luftværnskanoner, opmarcheringsområder og køretøjer.

Fra onsdag 7. september kl. 12.00 til onsdag den 14. september kl. 12.00 er følgende gældende:

– Der er fløjet 10 missioner

– Der er anvendt 12 præcisionsbomber

Den samlede total er dermed:

– Der er fløjet 131 missioner

– Der er anvendt 193 bomber

Træningsbidraget

I den forgangne uge har der været opstart på træningen af Border Guard Police. Træningsbidraget har desuden været involveret i uddannelse af sygehjælpere fra den 7. irakiske division.

Radarbidraget

Overdragelsen fra Hold 3 til Hold 4 er nu overstået. Hold 3 ankom til Danmark i weekenden efter en veloverstået mission.

I løbet af ugen har radaren kørt uden afbrydelser. Bidraget støtter for tiden koalitionens kamp mod ISIL-fraktioner omkring de befriede områder vest for Bagdad.

Transportbidraget

Flyet har i ugens løb været begrænset i sit virke pga. fejl på stellet. Derfor har bidraget ikke kunnet beflyve alle pladser i Irak og har af den grund aflyst flere missioner.

En CARGO specialist er tilgået missionen denne weekend og det har allerede haft en god effekt. Hans opgave er at støtte alle tre samarbejdende eskadriller med at få planlagt og pakket deres gods korrekt.

Minusma

Der har været holdskifte blandt de danske specialoperationsstyrker i Mali. Hold 2 er nu klar til at fortsætte den indsats, som hold 1 har ydet de seneste fire måneder.

Standing NATO Maritime Group 2

Absalon er efter deltagelse i OPRECLIB – fjernelse af kemiske stoffer fra Libyen – nu atter i Middelhavet. Skibet indgår nu i NATOs anden stående fregatstyrke – Standing NATO Maritime Group 2.

Skibsbidraget løser sammen med andre NATO-enheder opgaver i forbindelse med Operation ACTIVE ENDEAVOUR, der har til hensigt at imødegå ulovlige aktiviteter i hele Middelhavet. Absalon er i øjeblikket indsat i det vestlige Middelhav.

Ud over Absalons egen besætning er der blandt andet tilført en helikopter fra Flyvevåbnet, specialoperationsstyrker fra Frømandskorpset og andre særlige kapaciteter. Absalon skal efter planen vende tilbage til Frederikshavn i begyndelsen af december.

LEVANT / CHAMMAL

Appréciation de situation

Daech continue de perdre du terrain en Irak comme en Syrie sous l’action de la coalition et de ses partenaires sur les différents fronts. Daech organise désormais une défense discontinue centrée notamment sur des zones sanctuaires et des points d’appui autour de zones urbaines.

En Irak, dans la région de Qayyarah, les FSI consolident leurs positions avant de reprendre l’offensive.

En Syrie, les forces de la coalition poursuivent leur progression vers le sud où la résistance de Daech est plus marquée.

Activités de la force Chammal

Cette semaine, les avions de la coalition ont poursuivi leur action au profit des forces de sécurité irakiennes au sol avec un effort accru contre les lignes d’approvisionnement et de communication de Daech. 8 vols ISR ont été réalisés. Les Rafale ont par ailleurs mené 28 missions d’appui aérien et de frappes planifiées, principalement dans la région de Mossoul.

Cette activité aérienne a permis de réaliser 13 frappes et de détruire 19 objectifs (dépôts logistiques, positions défensives et caches d’armes de Daech).

Dans la région de Bagdad, les TF Narvik et Montsabert poursuivent leur action de formation au profit des forces irakiennes.

* Near Abu Kamal, seven strikes destroyed 21 ISIL supply routes, an oil well head, and two oil tanker trucks.

* Near Dayz Az Zawr, one strike destroyed an ISIL oil well head and an oil tanker truck.

* Near Mar’a, two strikes engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed two fighting positions and a mortar system.

Iraq

* Near Al Huwayjah, two strikes engaged an ISIL chemical weapons storage facility and destroyed a rocket system, a rocket rail, and a mortar system.

* Near Al Qaim, one strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed a building.

* Near Mosul, one strike [1 British] engaged an ISIL IED factory.

* Near Qayyarah, one strike [1 British] engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed three mortar systems, a fighting position, four rocket rails, a tunnel, and inoperable coalition equipment.

* Near Sinjar, one strike destroyed an ISIL tractor trailer, a front-end loader, and a fighting position.

* Near Tal Afar, one strike destroyed an ISIL fighting position and a tunnel entrance.

Monday 12 September – a Reaper destroyed three terrorist mortars near Qayyarah in northern Iraq…Iraqi ground forces, having liberated first the nearby airfield, then the town of Qayyarah from Daesh, continue to conduct offensive operations in the surrounding area and north towards Al Hawd. They have been well supported by coalition aircraft, with Royal Air Force Reapers putting their ability to remain on patrol for extended periods of time to valuable use in hunting down Daesh mortar teams attempting to conduct harassing fire against the Iraqi advance. On Monday 12 September, one Reaper successfully located and attacked, using Hellfire missiles, three different terrorist mortars near Qayyarah.

On Sept. 11, coalition military forces conducted 23 strikes against ISIL terrorists in Syria and Iraq. In Syria, coalition military forces conducted 16 strikes using attack, bomber, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL targets. Additionally in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted seven strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using attack, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL targets. The following is a summary of the strikes conducted against ISIL since the last press release:

Syria

* Near Al Shadadi, nine strikes engaged eight ISIL tactical units and destroyed 14 fighting positions, two bulldozers, a command and control node, a VBIED, a vehicle and a VBIED facility.

* Near Sultan Abdallah, one strike destroyed an ISIL VBIED factory.
* Near Tal Afar, one strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed a vehicle.

Sunday 11 September – Tornados bombed a Daesh strongpoint in eastern Syria, while a Reaper destroyed a further mortar team near Qayyarah…The following day [11th Sept], another Reaper successfully used a Hellfire against a further terrorist mortar team near Qayyarah. In eastern Syria, Tornados provided support to the Syrian democratic forces by using a salvo of four Paveway IVs to demolish a large building in which Daesh fighters, including snipers, had fortified themselves.
