On Feb. 27, coalition military forces continued to attack ISIL terrorists in Syria and Iraq. In Syria, coalition military forces conducted 12 strikes using ground-attack, attack, and fighter aircraft against ISIL targets. Additionally in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 12 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using fighter aircraft against ISIL targets. The following is a summary of the strikes conducted against ISIL since the last press release:

Syria

* Near Ar Raqqah, one strike struck an ISIL improvised weapons assembly area.

* Near Manbij, one strike destroyed two ISIL buildings.

* Near Tal Abyad, 10 strikes struck three separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed 23 ISIL buildings, and suppressed two ISIL tactical units, an ISIL mortar position, eight ISIL fighting positions, an ISIL heavy machine gun position, and an ISIL rocket fire position.

Iraq

* Near Fallujah, one strike struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL staging area, and two rocket rails.

* Near Kisik, one strike destroyed three ISIL fighting positions.

* Near Makhmur, one strike destroyed an ISIL vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED).

The Violations Documentation Center named a male nurse from Nawa in Dara’a as a victim in Aleppo – though did not specify exactly where he was killed. According to Syria2011, “the nurse Khalil Ibrahim Ghada’an al Jahmani was killed due to his wounds sustained when Russian planes targeted one of the hospitals in Aleppo yesterday.”

Friday 26 February – Tornados and Typhoons conducted three attacks in northern Iraq against Daesh mortar and rocket teams, and a checkpoint…On Friday 26 February, Tornados and Typhoons flew missions over northern Iraq. Typhoons bombed a Daesh mortar team that was firing on Kurdish troops near Kisik, while a pair of Tornados used a Brimstone missile to attack a checkpoint east of Bayji.
