Up to two civilians were killed and seven to eight were wounded by alleged Russian and/or Syrian regime airstrikes on Jisr al Shughour, Idlib governorate, on November 6th, 2019, according to local sources.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SN4HR) reported that Al Tharaya Mosque was struck, as well as the headquarters of the Syrian Civil Defence in Al Janoubi neighbourhood and Ali Bin Abi Taleb School.

The Syrian Civil Defence reported that besides their Sector Command Center, the Women’s Civil Defence building and the ammunition removal building were also damaged. Smart News Agency added the targeting of a hospital and civilian houses. IdlibPlus wrote that a dispensary and two schools were hit. @SY_plus added that “the Civil Defense Sector Command Center in Jisr Al-Shughour was out of service” following the strikes.

A tweet and image from @osama_sy87 shows an airstrike that hit the goal in a football stadium.

A UFUK correspondent reported that “a martyr and seven civilians were wounded in the city of Jisr Al-Shughour, as a result of the bombing of the high-explosive Sollark warplanes in the western countryside of Idlib.”

According to @SY_plus, “two civilians were killed and 7 others were injured in an air strike on the city of Jisr Al-Shughour in Idlib, one of the airstrikes that resulted in the Civil Defense Center being out of service.”

Syria TV also reported that two civilians were killed, adding “the number of wounded reached 8.” Zaman Al Wasl added that “two civilians, one displaced and the other, died after a heart attack as a result of the bombing” and “the strikes also resulted in 9 injuries, including a serious condition.”

Jisr Media Center published the names of one killed civilian, Mohammed Kanjou Mshallah, and seven wounded civilian males: Mustafa Qaddad, Mohammad Tahhan, Mohammed Nour, Amjad Hassa Mohammed, Abd Al Ilah Abd Al Moun’em, Anas Sheikh Mahmoud, Abu Omar Al Shami.

SN4HR later added that Omar Zaki from Bashlamoon village was also killed.

A video posted by @HadiAlabdallah shows at least five different clouds of smoke and dust rising into the sky following multiple strikes. A video posted by @john_marquee shows the aftermath of the strikes, including buildings collapsed and craters in the ground.

MMC reported that the airstrikes were carried out by SU-24 warplanes of the Syrian regime. Other sources, such as @ShahbaPress and Euphrates Post reported that the Russian forces were responsible for the airstrikes.

Four men were killed in allegedly Russian and Syrian regime air- and artillery strikes on the city of Ma’arat Al Numan, Idlib governorate, on December 18th, 2019, according to local sources.

The four male victims were identified as Muhammad Ziyad Al Abd, Abd Al Razzaq, Yaman Serjawi and Fares Ahmad Al Salloum. The Syrian Civil Defence reported five wounded, including two children.

The MMC reported “intense Russian military raids with vacuum missiles, targeting residential neighbourhoods in Ma’arat Al Numan city”. The Syrian Network for Human Rights reported artillery shelling by the Syrian regime, in addition to Syrian regime airstrikes by helicopters. The shelling targeted Al Bezr market in the middle of the city, partially destroying several shops and damaging the market’s facilities.

The Syrian Civil Defence also reported that the Syrian regime shelled a building of SCD in the city.

Human Rights Watch said “In December 18, 2019, at about 11 a.m., the Maarat al-Nu`man Center for Primary Emergencies, a 24-hour ambulance deployment facility with additional emergency and child protection services, run by Violet, was hit. The center served about 600 people in the community. A Violet employee said that artillery shells struck the center’s ambulance garage and reception rooms, collapsing the building. The 10 people inside the office at the time were not wounded, but it took them five days to reopen the center. Human Rights Watch reviewed two photographs posted on Violet’s Facebook page that day that show damage to the office interior. These photographs also show damage to the windows and doors.”

Between one and three civilians, including a woman, were reported as killed and up to seven others, including two children and a woman, were wounded by Russian or regime forces in Saraqib on January 5th, 2020.

Alarby News and the Idlib Civil Defense Media Center reported that seven civilians, including two children, were wounded in the village of Saraqib and one civilian was killed. Local sources noted that five civilians were wounded, but Turkey Pos News supported earlier reports that the total of wounded civilians was seven. The name of the deceased woman was released as Suhaibah Ibrahim Al-Khaled.

According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SN4HR), “Suhaibah Ibrahim Sattouf al Khaled was killed as Syrian regime fixed- wing warplanes carried out strikes using machine guns and small- size missiles on Saraqeb city in the eastern suburbs of Idlib governorate on January 5th”.

Edlib Media Center reported that five airstrikes hit the Saraqeb, while the Syrian Civil Defense in Idlib posted on Facebook that “A woman was killed and two children, a woman and four men were injured after a violent attack on #Saraqeb After 12 airstrikes by Assad’s warplanes, today .”

The Local Coordination Committees of Syria identified that at 13:51, regime “machine guns” struck the city of Saraqib, resulting in one death and five injuries.

A tweet from @thawrat111 provided information that three people were killed and many others were injured in raids on Saraqib. @jisrtv also identified two people, “a man and a woman”, killed.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights said also the strikes also targeted the main market in the city damaging several shops and market’s facilities.

While the Syrian Network for Human Rights, Edlib Media Center and Syrian Civil Defense blamed the Syrian regime for the attack, @abuhuzaifa pointed to the Russian forces.
