A Syrian Civil Defence volunteer was wounded and an unknown number of people were injured in alleged Russian or Syrian regime airstrikes on the town of Al Bara, Idlib governorate, in the evening of January 15th, 2020, according to local sources.

Ismail al-Hamada, a civil defense volunteer, was injured, during inspection of a bombing site of an alleged attack by the Syrian armed forces in Al-Bara in Jabal Al-Zawiya during the evening on January 15, 2020.

A local source tweeted: “warplanes bombard the town of Al-Bara, south of Idlib, with vacuum missiles.”.

After the alleged attack Mr Al-Hamada, a volunteer in the Civil Defence Team, went to conduct an inspection of the bombing site and the shelling, and was injured during his inspection, as the Syrian Civil Defence Team tweeted.

Furthermore, the Syrian Civil Defence tweeted that the attack by the regime forces led to limited damage to materials only.

Shaam news released a report noting that many were wounded during attacks by Russian and Syrian warplanes and helicopters, including in the town of Al-Bara.

One civilian died in an alleged Russian or regime air or artillery strike on Telmens, according to local media on January 22nd 2020.

Edlib Media Centre reported: “The body of a young man who was martyred in a previous regime artillery shelling in Talmans town, south of Idlib, was found.”

According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, “Muhammad Khaled al Na’san was killed on January 22, when he went to his house to take some of his family belongings to their place of displacement as Syrian regime forces’ artillery fired shells on Talmennes town in the eastern suburbs of Idlib governorate.”

Local Coordination Committees of Syria also named the victim, adding that he was 37-years-old, and that he died in regime artillery shelling. The source added that the strike occurred at 09:35 local time.

The Shaam News Network noted that both Russian and regime warplanes “launched dozens of airstrikes” across cities and towns in Idlib, killing one civilian in Telmens.

Between three and six civilians were killed in alleged Russian airstrikes on the town of Hass, Idlib governorate, on January 28th, 2020, according to local sources.

According to a tweet from @JennRollins1002, three to six men were killed in the town of Hass by regime helicopters that dropped barrel bombs on the town. The Syrian Civil Defense reported that six men were killed because of the bombing of civilian homes.

Shaam News also reported that there were six victims of Russian strikes but did not specify whether these victims were killed or injured. Various other sources were conflicted over who was to blame, reporting that the regime was responsible.

A Syria Civil Defense center in Saraqib, Idlib in Syria was put out of service allegedly because of Russian forces or Syrian regime  airstrikes that targeted it, injuring up to seven volunteers on January 31st, 2020, according to local sources.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights said that “fixed-wing warplanes we believe were Russian fired missiles on a building of Civil Defense (consists of headquarter of Saraqeb district and a Civil Defense center) in Saraqeb city in the eastern suburbs of Idlib governorate, injuring six members of Civil Defense, severely destroying its building and damaging its equipment on January 31st.”

Syrian Civil Defense said that “Our heroic #WhiteHelmets were keeping vigil at their center in #Saraqib sector in #Idlib when it was targeted by Russian airstrikes, rendering the centre out of service. Our six humanitarian workers were injured in the strike but recovering.”

Barrel bombs and vacuum missiles were launched upon the town of Saraqib according to the Syrian Network for Human Rights. The first report of four wounded was later raised to seven, and all were volunteers for the Syrian Civil Defense Center.

In the town of Saraqib, the Syrian Network for Human rights detailed how Russian missiles struck the command building of the Syrian Civil Defense Center. The building was largely destroyed and much of the equipment ruined.

It was reported that Russian fixed wing jets dropped barrel bombs and vacuum missiles upon Saraqib with the support of pro-Assad forces.

Up to four civilians, including a child, were killed and up to five others, including three children were injured as the result of Russian airstrikes on the town of Kafr Amma, Aleppo governorate, on February 12th, 2020, as reported by local sources.

SCD Aleppo wrote that “four civilians were killed and three others wounded due to a Russian aerial bombardment with two missiles, targeting Kafr Amma village in the western countryside of Aleppo, on Wednesday morning.” @HalabTodayTV reported that three civilians were killed in the strikes.

The Director of Media of the SCD, Ibrahim Abu Al Laith, specified to SMART News Agency that there was one child among the four killed civilians and that three other children of a displaced family were lightly injured. Al Laith reported the use of two vacuum missiles.

The Syrian Civil Defense said that the family members were killed after fleeing the shelling in Idlib, and that rescue operations lasted for few hours.

Our Syria News later released the identities of the four victims as well as the three wounded civilians: Muhammad Khair Al-Khalil, 23; Abdel Fattah Al Khalil, 23; Abdel Rahim Al Khalil, 22; Muhammad Ahmad Al-Khaled, 15. The wounded civilians were identified as Mustafa Al-Khaled, 17; Mohamed Zaghnoun, 35; Amer (no additional name given), 35.

Halab TV and local activists declared that Russian warplanes carried out the air strike using vacuum missiles. However, Our Syria was the only source to report that the regime was responsible for the strikes.

According to a tweet from @abazeid89, the bombing occurred just minutes after ” Erdogan’s speech, in which he threatened that the planes that bomb civilians will not be able to move freely.”

One civilian was reported killed and at least one civilian, a young man, sustained injuries after alleged Syrian, Russian and/or Iranian airstrikes or artillery shelling on the village of Tarmala in Jabal Shahshabo in the southern Idlib countryside on February 23, 2020.

Regarding civilian harm, the Syrian Civil Defence – Southern Director reported that they exhumed a body from under the rubble and rescued a young man alive following a Russian air raid that targeted civilian homes in the village of Tarmala. Basklaa16 stated that a civilian was killed and “others” were wounded as a result of the attack .Images of the body of the civilian killed informed us that he was a man.

Sources were conflicted as to who was responsible for the strike. Multiple local sources, including journalist @mhmdfaisel, stated that the Assad Regime carried out artillery shelling on the village of Tarmala, while @nagiNajjar and Mustafakh1997 reported that the harm resulted from Russian air raids. Our Syria attributed the strikes to Regime and Iranian forces, and the Shaam News Network said that both Russian and Asadian air forces launched air strikes amid artillery and missile shelling that targeted multiple cities, towns, and villages, including Tarmala.

Local sources reported that up to two civilians were killed and two others, including a woman, were wounded in alleged Russian airstrikes on a secondary school in a camp for displaced people in Adwan in the Idlib province on March 2nd 2020.

Multiple sources claimed that two civilians were killed as a result of the alleged Russian airstrike. Step News was the only source to report that one civilian was killed in the attack.

Smart news added that the strike also led to the injury of one woman and one man.

SNHR Post later added detail that “fixed- wing warplanes we believe were Russian fired missiles on Odwan Secondary School in Odwan village in Sahl al Rouj area in the western suburbs of Idlib governorate, partially destroying its building and severely destroying its furniture, on March 2”.

All of the sources that reported on the incident attributed airstrikes on Adwan to Russian planes while Shaam News was the only source to mention that both regime and Russian planes carried out airstrikes in various villages across Idlib.
