On April 24, Coalition military forces conducted 35 strikes consisting of 78 engagements against ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq.

In Syria, Coalition military forces conducted 19 strikes consisting of 24 engagements against ISIS targets.

* Near Abu Kamal, two strikes destroyed five ISIS well heads.

* Near Al Shadaddi, one strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit, a fighting position, and a mortar system.

* Near Dayr Az Zawr, nine strikes destroyed 10 ISIS oil processing equipment items, four ISIS fuel trucks, and three ISIS well heads.

* Near Tabqah, seven strikes engaged three ISIS tactical units; destroyed three ISIS command and control nodes, a fighting position, and a heavy machine gun; and suppressed two ISIS tactical units.

In Iraq, Coalition military forces conducted 16 strikes consisting of 54 engagements against ISIS targets.

* Near Kisik, two strikes engaged an ISIS tactical unit and suppressed a mortar team and a rocket team.

* Near Mosul, five strikes [1 British, 1 Australia] engaged five ISIS tactical units; destroyed four weapons caches, two VBIEDs, a mortar system, a rocket-propelled grenade system, an ISIS fuel truck, a front-end loader, a rocket system, an ISIS staging area; and damaged four ISIS supply routes and a fighting position.

* Near Sinjar, eight strikes destroyed five weapons facilities, two ISIS staging areas, a weapons cache, a VBIED factory, and an IED factory.

* Near Tal Afar, one strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit; destroyed a weapons cache, an ISIS staging area, and a VBIED.

Additionally, two strikes were conducted in Syria from April 23 that have closed within the last 24 hours.

* On April 23, near Raqqah, Syria, two strikes engaged two ISIS tactical units; destroyed two fighting positions; and suppressed two ISIS tactical units.

Monday 24 April – Typhoons supported Syrian Democratic Forces, destroying a Daesh-held building in eastern Syria, while Tornados struck a Daesh position in Mosul…

The RAF is continuing to support Iraqi forces in their effort to liberate western Mosul. While the operating environment in the city is very challenging, particularly given the closely-packed buildings, very narrow streets, and the density of the urban population, our aircrew have continued to deliver precision strikes in close support of Iraqi troops on the ground. Daesh’s current tactics, including the illegal use of civilians as human shields, and fighting from sites such as schools, hospitals, religious sites and civilian neighbourhoods, increases the risk to innocent life. While no military operations come without risk, particularly in dense urban environments and against such inhuman Daesh tactics, the RAF continues to take all steps necessary to minimise civilian causalities.

Two Royal Air Force Typhoons provided close air support to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Monday 24 April. A Paveway IV guided bomb was used to demolish a building in eastern Syria that was held by a group of Daesh fighters. On the same day in northern Iraq, Tornados provided similar support to the Iraqi forces, striking a Daesh position in western Mosul.

On 24 Apr, Australian F/A-18 Homets supported Iraqi forces during operations in Mosul. The Australian aircraft struck one Daesh fighting position with a precision guided munition during several hours of support.

On April 23, Coalition military forces conducted 31 strikes consisting of 97 engagements against ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq.

In Syria, Coalition military forces conducted 24 strikes consisting of 48 engagements against ISIS targets.

* Near Dayr Az Zawr, three strikes destroyed three ISIS well heads.

* Near Palmyra, two strikes destroyed four fighting positions and two ISIS shipping containers.

* Near Raqqah, seven strikes engaged three ISIS tactical units and destroyed three fighting positions, a heavy machine gun, a tactical vehicle, and an ISIS well head.

* Near Tabqah, 12 strikes engaged [1 British] 10 ISIS tactical units and destroyed 12 fighting positions, one tactical vehicle, one ISIS vehicle, one heavy machine gun, and a command and control node.

In Iraq, Coalition military forces conducted seven strikes consisting of 49 engagements against ISIS targets.

* Near Rawah, one strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed an ISIS staging area.

* Near Mosul, six strikes [1 British, 1 Australian] engaged five ISIS tactical units; destroyed 11 fighting positions, eight heavy machine guns, four rocket-propelled grenade systems, two ISIS-held buildings, one ISIS-held bridge, and a VBIED; damaged 14 ISIS supply routes and a fighting position; and suppressed four rocket teams, three mortar teams, and an ISIS tactical unit.

Additionally, three strikes were conducted in Syria from April 19-21 that have been closed within the last 24 hours.

* On April 19, near Raqqah, Syria, one strike damaged a command and control node.

* On April 20, near Raqqah, Syria, one strike suppressed two ISIS tactical units and damaged a fighting position.

* On Apr. 21, near Raqqah, Syria, one strike destroyed an IED factory and suppressed two ISIS tactical units.

Sunday 23 April – Typhoons destroyed an armed truck south-west of Tabqah in Syria, while Tornados bombed a Daesh position in western Mosul…On Sunday 23 April, Typhoons assisted the SDF, destroying an armed truck near Tabqah, west of Raqqa. In western Mosul, a Daesh-held building was struck by a Paveway IV, released by a Tornado flight, after Iraqi troops came under fire from the building.
