Le 1er février 2016, les forces françaises ont mené conjointement avec les avions de la coalition un raid aérien contre Daech, dans la région de Manbij, à une soixantaine de kilomètres au Nord-Est d’Alep en Syrie.

Interallié et interarmées, ce raid était composé d’une vingtaine d’aéronefs américains et français, dont des Rafale de l’armée de l’air provenant des Émirats arabes unis et des Rafale marine qui ont décollé du porte-avions Charles de Gaulle présent dans le Golfe arabo-persique.
