Three children were killed in alleged Russian airstrikes on the town of Kafar Ta’al, Aleppo governorate, on January 20th, 2020, according to local sources. Seven civilians were reportedly wounded.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported the killing of three young girls. The Syrian Network for Human Rights wrote that the girls were part of the same family: “Sibling girls Noura and Yusra Mehyou Al Masri and the girl Fatimah Qaddour Al Masri, aged 6, 10 and 6 respectively, were killed as fixed-wing warplanes we believe were Russian fired missiles on Kafr Ta’al village in the western suburbs of Aleppo governorate, on January 20″. According to the Syrian Civil Defence, the residential home of the children was targeted.

Edlib Media Center, Smart News Agency and @ShahbaPress reported seven wounded civilians. Sources stated that the incident occured around dawn.

The Syrian Civil Defence in Aleppo posted that they were searching for victims underneath the rubble.

Shaam News Network wrote that “civilians were killed and others wounded today, Monday, by Russian airstrikes, targeting the towns of the western countryside of Aleppo, in the context of an escalation campaign that has affected the area for nearly a week, amid a large movement of displacement from the area.”

The incident occured around dawn.

Two sisters were reported killed, and three other civilians, two or all of them are children, were injured in alleged Russian forces or Syrian regime airstrikes on Kafarjoum in Aleppo’s countryside in Syria on January 20th, 2020, according to local sources.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SN4HR) reported that “The sisters, Raghdah and Amal Mustafa, aged 16 and 20 respectively, were killed as fixed- wing warplanes fired missiles on Kafrjoum village in the western suburbs of Aleppo governorate, on January 20th. ”

Baladi News correspondent in Aleppo’s countryside said that “on Monday Morning, Russian warplanes launched several airstrikes targeting the residential neighborhoods of the town of Kafarjoumin the western countryside of Aleppo, which resulted in the killing of two civilians in an initial toll, and wounding others whose number was unknown.”

Justice Organization said that the airstrikes caused the death of two civilians and the injury of three, in addition to the death of a number of livestock near a house in Kafrjoum on January 20th.

Most of sources including Baladi, @ShahbaPress , Edlib Media Center, Justice Organization and Shaam Network blamed Russia for this incident, while Syrian Civil Defense and SMART Agency pointed to the regime as responsible.

The incident occured in the morning.

Five civilians of the same family, including three children, were killed in alleged Russian airstrikes in the village of Jama’ait Bala, Aleppo governorate, in the night of January 17th to January 18th, 2020, according to local sources.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights reported that “the children Dalal and Abdullah Sabouneh, their father Muhammad Adib Sabouneh and their mother Qamar Helal were killed as fixed-wing warplanes we believe were Russian fired missiles on their house in Jam’iyet Balah area located near in Einjara village in the western suburbs of Aleppo suburbs, on January 18, 2020″. The SCD also reported that their sister Rihan Sabouneh was killed. SCD Aleppo reported that the family was displaced earlier.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that a man and woman and their three children had died. Step Agency reported an unknown number of civilians was wounded.

The incident occured during the night.

One civilian was reported killed, and two children and two women were injured in alleged Russian airstrikes on Rif Al Muhandiseen in Aleppo’s western countryside, Syria on January 18th, 2020.

Abdul Rahman Hilal Al-Halabi aged 23, was killed in the attack, and his body was recovered by the Syrian Civil Defense volunteers from under the debris of his house. Justice Organization said that the victim was a student registered with the ‘Mustafa Koja High School’ in Aleppo countryside.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights reported saying “Abdou Helal al Halabi, a college student at the faculty of Medicine, from Ram Hamdan village in the northern suburbs of Idlib governorate, aged 23, was killed as fixed- wing warplanes we believe were Russian fired missiles on countryside of  al Muhandiseen al Awwal area in the western suburbs of Aleppo governorate, on January 18th, 2020.”

The Syrian Civil Defense said that Abdu’s mother was also injured in this incident. A post from the Syrian Civil Defense in Aleppo updated the casualties of the airstrikes on Rif Al Muhandeseen reporting that two children and two women also got injured.

Sources blamed Russia for the airstrikes, including Justice Organization, Step Agency, SMART Agency,  Macro Media Center, Syrian Network for Human Rights and Syrian Civil Defense.

SMART Agency reported that “Two children and their parents were killed on Friday-Saturday night, by Russian airstrikes targeting a shelter center near the village of Anjara (16 km west of Aleppo) in northern Syria.”

Also according to SMART Agency, “The Directorate of Education in Aleppo” announced the suspension of school days for two days in the southern and western areas of Aleppo, northern Syria, due to the military campaign launched by the Syrian regime and Russia on the region.”

Step News Agency said that “Russian warplanes targeted with vacuum missiles the town of Kafrnaha in the western countryside of Aleppo, killing two children and wounding four civilians, who were in a shelter for the displaced people in the outskirts of the town.”

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SN4HR) said that “Fixed- wing warplanes we believe were Russian, fired missiles on an IDP shelter which was originally a beauty factory building located in the outskirts of Kafrnaha village in the western suburbs of Aleppo governorate, on January 17th, 2020.”

From their side, IdlibPlus said that towns and villages of western Aleppo were targeted with about 16 airstrikes on that day.

Step News Agency, Syrian Network for Human Rights, Edlib Media Center and Macro Media Center blamed Russia for this incident, while Shaam Network said both Russia and the Syrian regime were responsible.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said “The Russian airstrikes killed two children in Awejil and injured seven others, including three women. Information was reported on escape of prisoners from Al Qasimiyah prison west of Aleppo after being bombed by Russian aircraft.”

Shaam Network described the attacks as “unprecedented aerial escalation” reporting that residential areas were targeted with “dozens of airstrikes causing deaths and injuries”.

The Syrian Civil Defense (White Helmets) said the airstrikes targeted residential areas, and the Edlib Media Center the attacks targeted a shelter for IDPs in the village.

As to responsibility for this incident, SMART Agency, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and Edlib Media Center pointed fingers to Russia, while Syria Coalition and Shaam Network blamed both Russia and the Syrian regime.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that within 72 hours, the number of airstrikes by Russia on Aleppo countryside and Idlib reached at least 140, while the regime conducted about 105 raids.
