Wednesday 4 October – Typhoons assisted in the liberation of Hawijah, destroying a Daesh mortar team and truck-bomb, while Tornados destroyed another truck-bomb near Bayji…A flight of Typhoons supported Iraqi forces as they advanced to liberate Hawijah on Wednesday 4 October. Our aircraft used Paveway IV guided bombs to remove two threats which the Iraqi troops encountered: a terrorist mortar team, and a truck-bomb which was blocking a road to the north-east of the town. Meanwhile, a pair of Tornados were tasked to deal with a second truck-bomb which had been positioned by terrorists to the north-east of Bayji. The vehicle was destroyed by a direct hit from a Brimstone missile.

On Oct.3, Coalition military forces conducted 39 strikes consisting of 40 engagements against ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq.

In Syria, Coalition military forces conducted 34 strikes consisting of 34 engagements against ISIS targets.

•Near Abu Kamal, one strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed a vehicle.

•Near Dayr Az Zawr, three strikes engaged two ISIS tactical units.

•Near Raqqah, 30 strikes engaged 16 ISIS tactical units; destroyed 14 fighting positions, two vehicles, and a logistics node; and suppressed four fighting positions.

In Iraq, Coalition military forces conducted five strikes consisting of six engagements against ISIS targets.

•Near Al Qaim, two strikes destroyed an ISIS-held building and a weapons cache.

•Near Huwijah, one strike destroyed an ISIS headquarters and a VBIED.

•Near Rawah, two strikes destroyed an ISIS-held building and four ISIS boats.

Additionally, 23 strikes consisting of 25 engagements were conducted in Syria on Oct. 2 that closed within the last 24 hours.

•On Oct. 2, near Raqqah, 23 strikes engaged eight ISIS tactical units, destroyed nine fighting positions and damaged five fighting positions.

On Oct.2, Coalition military forces conducted 14 strikes consisting of 14 engagements against ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq.

In Syria, Coalition military forces conducted 10 strikes consisting of 10 engagements against ISIS targets.

•Near Abu Kamal, two strikes engaged two ISIS tactical units and destroyed two vehicles.

•Near Dayr Az Zawr, two strikes [1 British?] engaged two ISIS tactical units and destroyed a vehicle.

•Near Raqqah, six strikes engaged three ISIS tactical units and destroyed three fighting positions and three ISIS supply routes.

In Iraq, Coalition military forces conducted four strikes consisting of four engagements against ISIS targets.

•Near Al Qaim, two strikes destroyed an ISIS headquarters and a weapons cache.

•Near Bayji, one strike destroyed an ISIS tunnel and a vehicle.

•Near Kirkuk, one strike [1 Aus] destroyed an ISIS fighting position.

Additionally, four strikes consisting of eight engagements were conducted in Syria and Iraq on Oct. 1 that closed within the last 24 hours.

•Near Al Shadaddi, Syria, one strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed a fighting position.

•Near Bayji, Iraq, one strike destroyed seven ISIS vehicles, four fighting positions, two VBIEDs, and a tactical vehicle.

•Near Raqqah, Syria, two strikes engaged two ISIS tactical units and destroyed two fighting positions.

Monday 2 October – a Reaper struck a group of terrorists engaged in combat with Syrian Democratic Forces near Dayr az Zawr, Syria…With Syrian Democratic Forces continuing to fight Daesh to the north-east of Dayr az Zawr, a Royal Air Force Reaper remotely piloted aircraft flew overwatch on Monday 2 October. An SDF unit reported being engaged in close combat with several terrorists, and the Reaper’s crew intervened, successfully targeting the extremists with a Hellfire missile attack.

On 02 Oct 17, Australian F/A-18 Hornets supported Iraqi Security Forces during operations in the vicinity of Kirkuk. The Australian aircraft struck a Daesh defensive position with a guided munition.
